Take the stress out of an unorganized summer and fill it with the happiness and new adventures awaiting your child (ages 7-16) at RIVER WAY RANCH CAMP. River Way Ranch Camp, a co-educational resident camp located in the beautiful foothills of Sequoia National Park, attracts children from all over the world.

Children choose from 60 exciting activities. In addition to regular camp activities, River Way offers classes in water-skiing, horseback riding, whitewater river-rafting, tennis, digital photography, trampoline center, sailing, mini-bikes, waverunners and go-karts. Trips to the local waterslide park and overnight to the Sequoias are also favorites. River Way campers enjoy four 1-1/2 hour activity periods daily and conclude with a fun evening program. River Way hires a staff in excess of 140 people and requires them to attend 7-10 days of training which focuses on building self esteem, conflict resolution, team building and all aspects of safety and supervising campers throughout each day. The Buckaroos, ages 7-9, have two counselors with each cabin group at all times. They receive a challenging, diversified schedule, teaching them many new skills. All campers will also have an opportunity to earn iron-on T-shirt patches in all activities.

Beginning at age 10, Rancheros and Seniors have free choices of activity. They will sign up for their classes once a week and have the option of changing classes if so desired. In addition to River Way Ranch Camp, Wonder Valley Family Camp offers 2 - 1 week sessions in August. If your children are too young for River Way, you might want to try the Family Camp, where everyone can participate in age appropriate activities for the entire family.

Since 1950, the Idyllwild Arts Summer Program, formerly known as ISOMATA, has offered intensive workshops in dance, film/video, music, theater, visual arts and writing to students of all ages and abilities. Nestled at the mile-high level in the San Jacinto Mountains of Southern California, the 205-acre Idyllwild Arts campus is located in one of the most spectacular natural settings in the West.

Specific course offerings are organized into art centers according to age. Courses are available to boarding and day students.

Children's Center (ages 5-12): day programs for children 5-8; one- and two-week programs in dance, music, theater, visual arts and creative writing for ages 9-12.

Junior Artist's Center (ages 11-13): two-week programs in all of the visual and performing arts.

Youth Arts Center (ages 14-18): two- and three-week programs in all of the visual and performing arts.

Adult Arts Center (ages 19+):two-day to five-day workshops in visual arts and creative writing.

Family Camp: a one-week arts intensive program for the whole family.

Cazadero's Youth Music Camp is a residential co-ed music and performing arts camp for students, grades 5-12. Campers who attend Cazadero come back to school with a renewed commitment to their instruments, improved playing and practicing techniques, and stronger leadership skills that help inspire their peers and build better ensembles at school. The low student to staff ratio (about 5 to 1) gives kids personalized experience with a wide variety of teachers. Students play up to 5 hours per day and have the opportunity to work with top conductors and make lifelong friends.

Cazadero is known for its immensely popular performing and visual arts FAMILY CAMP, an arts learning community with many participants returning year after year, kids, parents and all. ACCOMMODATIONS AND MEALS: There are 53 private guest rooms with individually controlled A/C for families. All rooms have wall-to-wall carpeting, and private bathrooms with showers. All meals and activities are included and meals are served buffett-style. We also provide a coin-op laundry facility for your convenience.

CHILDCARE: Childcare is provided during activity and social hours. Qualified preschool instructors for infants and toddlers (2 and under) provide a creative program during these scheduled periods. Other babysitting arrangements can also be made for a reasonable fee.

CHILDREN'S PROGRAM: Children's programs are supervised by qualified counselors. Children under age 9 may participate in structured activities with their respective age groups, Campers 9 years and older may choose from a varied program. Adults may participate in most activities offered.

PARENT'S NIGHT OUT: One evening is set aside for Parents' Night Out when the adults dress up for the evening dinner, fine wine and entertainment. The children are cared for by the counselors while their parents relax and enjoy themselves!
