Since 1950, the Idyllwild Arts Summer Program, formerly known as ISOMATA, has offered intensive workshops in dance, film/video, music, theater, visual arts and writing to students of all ages and abilities. Nestled at the mile-high level in the San Jacinto Mountains of Southern California, the 205-acre Idyllwild Arts campus is located in one of the most spectacular natural settings in the West.

Specific course offerings are organized into art centers according to age. Courses are available to boarding and day students.

Children's Center (ages 5-12): day programs for children 5-8; one- and two-week programs in dance, music, theater, visual arts and creative writing for ages 9-12.

Junior Artist's Center (ages 11-13): two-week programs in all of the visual and performing arts.

Youth Arts Center (ages 14-18): two- and three-week programs in all of the visual and performing arts.

Adult Arts Center (ages 19+):two-day to five-day workshops in visual arts and creative writing.

Family Camp: a one-week arts intensive program for the whole family.

River Way Ranch Camp, a co-educational resident camp located in the beautiful foothills of Sequoia National Park, attracts children from all over the world. Awarded the #1 Family Business Award in 2008 and scoring 100% on the American Camp Association Accredition in 2008, River Way has been deemed 'one of the best camps in the United States'.

Children choose from 75 exciting activities. In addition to regular camp activities, River Way offers classes in wakeboarding, water-skiing, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, tennis, digital photography, film, journalism, paintball, trampoline center, sailing, mini-bikes, waverunners and go-karts. Trips to the local waterslide park and overnight to the Sequoias are also favorites. River Way campers enjoy four 1-1/2 hour activity periods daily and conclude with a fun evening program. River Way hires a staff in excess of 140 people and requires them to attend 7-10 days of training which focuses on building self esteem, conflict resolution, team building and all aspects of safety and supervising campers throughout each day. The Buckaroos, ages 7-9, have two counselors with each cabin group at all times. They receive a challenging, diversified schedule, teaching them many new skills. All campers will also have an opportunity to earn iron-on T-shirt patches in all activities.

Beginning at age 10, Rancheros and Seniors have free choices of activity. They will sign up for their classes once a week and have the option of changing classes if so desired. COURSES
DMA offers day and overnight courses in the US and Canada in weekly and multi-week sessions for youth, age 6-18. DMA courses accommodate a wide variety of digital media interests in a more sophisticated learning environment than other summer computer camps. Welcome to Hollywood Stunt Camp! The place where you will learn exciting high falls, such as headers, and back-falls, as well as hand-to-hand combat, shoulder rolls, and how to choreograph your own fight scene. All of this will be done with a professional stuntman in a safe and fun environment.
Whether you hope to double for a major motion picture star, or just want to experience a pure adrenaline rush, Hollywood Stunt Camp will keep you on, and off, the edge of your seat!!

ROCK STAR CAMP (Ages 10-16)

Future Britney's, Justin's, and Avril's, here is your chance to get a taste of the business! Join us for the Rock Star Camp and flex your singing muscles under the guidance of professional singers, songwriters, and producers.

FILM INSTITUTE (Ages 10-16)

"Lights, Camera, ACTION!" If what you really want to do is direct, you'll get your chance at the Pali Film Institute.
Professional directors teach storyboarding, shot list creation, casting, shooting, and editing. Spend a day learning the basic techniques of film direction, and expand your cinematography and editing skills, plus learn how to work with actors! Using our state of the art computers with Blue Screen technology, After Effects and Final Cut Pro programs, make the impossible, possible!
After all the hard work is done, screen your original masterpiece at the Pali Film Festival and take home a personalized DVD to showcase your work to family, friends and future producers! ACTING ACADEMY (Ages 10-16)

Learn what your director really wants when they call "action". Under the tuition of professional actors and directors, you will learn this fascinating art of performance for the screen. Learning your lines, blocking for the camera, developing your character and maintaining a consistent performance, it is all covered here.
Audition for a role in a movie made right here at the Pali studios, written and directed by campers attending the Film Institute. After many takes, and read-trough's, your polished performance will be taped and you'll take home an exciting DVD reel to showcase your talents. The scene is set, the lights are up, and Rolling!
Spend your afternoon enjoying your choice of 75 exciting camp activities such as mini-bikes, skateboarding, paintball, horseback riding, ropes course, jet skiing, arts & crafts, dance, dirt boarding, swimming, and more. EXTREME ACTION ADVENTURE CAMP (Ages 10-16)

If danger is your middle name, and safety is your moms, then this is the specialty for you! Extreme Action Adventure Camp is dirt-filled, adrenaline-pumped, and action packed.
Fly through the air on an ATV, learn tricks, jumps, and maneuvers on mini bikes, skate ollies and kick flips, do drop ins, 180s, shuv-its, backside and front side flips all in a safe setting taught by professionals. Next, you and your bike can ride the ski lift to the top of Snow Summit Ski Resort, and rip it up like the experts on the ride down. Or you can weave your way down the dry ski slope tobogganing! Each summer, New York Film Academy Summer Camps give hundreds of high school students an unforgettable and transformative experience in Filmmaking, Acting and 3-D Animation. The New York Film Academy high school camps are designed for students with little or no previous filmmaking, acting or animation experience. They are hands-on intensive workshops that fully immerse students in the craft of writing, directing, casting, shooting, acting in, editing, and animating their own films.

The New York Film Academy is honored to be the film school of choice of many Hollywood filmmakers and their families, including the son of Steven Spielberg, the son of former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan and the sister of director Luc Besson (Fifth Element, La Femme Nikita).

We have chosen some of the most prestigious and inspiring locations in the world to hold our camps including, The Dalton School in New York City, Universal Studios in Los Angeles, Oxford University in England, Disney-MGM Studios in Orlando, Florida; Harvard and Princeton Universities, Paris, France; and Florence, Italy.

We offer 1, 3, 4 and 6-week filmmaking, acting and 3-D animation workshops.

The camps at each location are closely supervised while providing a nurturing environment that encourages students to take creative risks. As part of the camp experience, students take part in a range of extracurricular activities and field trips particular to each location.

Students reside in dormitories, resort hotels, and residential apartment complexes depending on the location. Quality adult supervision of the New York Film Academy high school camps is our highest concern. All of our workshops are fully supervised. Our counselors are 21 years and older, and many have their undergraduate degrees in filmmaking or acting. California State Summer School for the Arts (InnerSpark) is a rigorous, pre-professional, month-long residential training program for talented students aspiring to careers in the arts and entertainment industries. It is a unique opportunity for gifted young artists to unleash their creativity in an educational environment devoted solely to the arts. What sets InnerSpark apart from other schools for the arts and similar arts programs are: 1) The high quality of its student body, which is determined through rigorous competition; 2) The socioeconomic and ethnic diversity of the students, which is due to the fact that no Californian is denied admission solely because of the inability to pay the tuition and fees; 3) A curriculum which emphasizes process over product. Established by the California State Legislature in 1985 as a state agency funded through a public/private partnership, InnerSpark selects high school students from grades 9 through 12 based on individual applications in animation, creative writing, dance, film and video, music, theatre and the visual arts. The admissions process for InnerSpark is highly competitive. Fewer than one in three applicants are typically accepted each year. Students from California’s more than 2,700 public and private secondary schools may apply. Approximately 500 are selected. In addition, a limited number of students from outside of California are invited to attend the program. The students selected for InnerSpark are named California Arts Scholars and receive the Governor’s Medallion, California’s highest distinction for artistically talented students. The California State Summer School Arts Foundation provides financial aid for InnerSpark students based on need. InnerSpark teachers are accomplished artists, entertainment professionals and distinguished college and university instructors. The major goals of our programs are to bring fun, joy, self-confidence, acceptance, love, friendship, and community to all our campers. Participants are given the opportunity to discover their inner strengths, realize new talents, expand their imagination, and develop trust, acceptance, teamwork, and a high level of self-esteem.

Our dedicated staff is hand selected to work with your child. Staff is hired based on strength of character, past experience, ability to connect with and inspire children, a desire to share, and the ability to lead and serve as a positive role model. Our staff also includes instructional specialists who are hired to lead specific skill-based workshops. Workshop leaders are not only hired for their experience and ability to teach, but also for their nurturing, fun, and caring natures.

uCamps - U choose the camp for U!:

F.A.M.E. Camp: F.A.M.E. Camp (Film.Acting.Music.Enthusiasts.) is for campers with a strong desire to become an actor, filmmaker, and/or rockstar!! Campers choose a “major” in one of three key areas and enjoy a fun program while receiving an expansive training from our team of industry professionals.

Discovery Camp: Discovery Camp is perfect for first time campers as well as seasoned pros. Discover all the fun, friendship, sports, games, adventure, art, and amazing staff uCamps has to offer!!!

The Original SDC: Summer Drama Camp (SDC) is the program that started it all. Campers design their own program from start to finish. This magical camp combines the best of the worlds of art, sports and the outdoors in one amazing place.

uCamps SoCal: Spend a week in the beautiful mountains near Big Bear Lake and have the experience of a lifetime! Campers design their own program, choosing the activities they like best while making friends and working with our amazingly fun staff. It doesn't matter if you are shy or outgoing, young or old, everyone is treated like a rock star! Ride horses, make films, be in a rock band, act, sing, dance, swim, hike and play!! You can do it all at uCamps!

L.I.T Program: The Leadership in Training (LIT) Program is a dynamic leadership training for students interested in bettering themselves and the world around them. This two week training program is at once educational, transformative, hard work and tons of fun!!! Instead of participating in regular workshops with the campers, as a selected group of leaders, they attend workshops designed to improve communication, conflict resolution, team building, time management, public speaking and other skills necessary to be successful in college and in the workplace. Participants leave having learned a lot while making new friends and lifelong memories. Graduation from the program is NOT a guarantee for job placement with uCamps, but it is a prerequisite for students interested in working for uCamps in the future. In the second week of the program, L.I.T.s work directly with the campers; leading games and activities, working in the cabin and serving as positive role models.
