Take the stress out of an unorganized summer and fill it with the happiness and new adventures awaiting your child (ages 7-16) at RIVER WAY RANCH CAMP. River Way Ranch Camp, a co-educational resident camp located in the beautiful foothills of Sequoia National Park, attracts children from all over the world.

Children choose from 60 exciting activities. In addition to regular camp activities, River Way offers classes in water-skiing, horseback riding, whitewater river-rafting, tennis, digital photography, trampoline center, sailing, mini-bikes, waverunners and go-karts. Trips to the local waterslide park and overnight to the Sequoias are also favorites. River Way campers enjoy four 1-1/2 hour activity periods daily and conclude with a fun evening program. River Way hires a staff in excess of 140 people and requires them to attend 7-10 days of training which focuses on building self esteem, conflict resolution, team building and all aspects of safety and supervising campers throughout each day. The Buckaroos, ages 7-9, have two counselors with each cabin group at all times. They receive a challenging, diversified schedule, teaching them many new skills. All campers will also have an opportunity to earn iron-on T-shirt patches in all activities.

Beginning at age 10, Rancheros and Seniors have free choices of activity. They will sign up for their classes once a week and have the option of changing classes if so desired. Rawhide Ranch, a private horse camp established in 1963, is famous for providing campers from all over the world with a taste of the old west. The camp is located approximately 45 min. north of San Diego, CA near the village of Bonsall.

Campers learn to ride in our nationally accredited western riding program. The daily schedule features western riding & vaulting (gymnastics on horseback) instruction, animal care time, animal & horse science classes along with a variety of electives to choose from such as roping, archery, drama, crafts, weekly newspaper, climbing tower, dance, sports/games as well as swimming/water slide.

The overnight program is a co-ed program for ages 7-15. One week or multiple week sessions are available.

When campers arrive to begin their summer camp adventure, families will be greeted by a host of new sights and sounds to welcome you to Rawhide Ranch. As you help your camper get settled in there will be plenty of time to meet your child’s counselor and explore the ranch together before you say your goodbyes. The days will fly by and before you know it the Grand Entry music will be playing to welcome the families back to the ranch for the closing day festivities. Thunderbird Ranch offers the beautiful rolling hills of Sonoma County with access to over 600 acres of ranch land on the Russian River and a warm, Mediterranean climate. The architecture of the facilities and outbuildings on the ranch provide a Wild West setting and contain numerous artifacts that enrich our local history. We have a 1926 Northwestern Pacific Railroad Caboose, refurbished Conestoga wagons and a model Railroad Station House. Bruce and his wife Elizabeth, have developed the curriculum of Thunderbird over the years to reflect current sporting trends, while still maintaining the basic activities that have helped Thunderbird remain one of the outstanding summer day camps in Northern California.

SOAR staff lead expeditions in North Carolina, Florida Keys, Wyoming, California, and Costa Rica.

Youth build self-confidence, develop social skills, work on leadership and communication skills, while enjoying the many challenges of our wilderness areas.

Adventure activities include wilderness backpacking, horsepacking, rock climbing, whitewater rafting, wildlife studies, mountaineering, SCUBA diving, snorkeling, sea kayaking and wilderness medicine. Summer expeditions range from two to four weeks in length. Shorter adventures of three to seven days are planned for the spring, fall and winter. Semester-length courses are available in the spring and fall.

For the aspiring James Bond or XXX, Pali Secret Agent Camp teaches the tricks of the trade using ATV's, paintball games, stealth techniques and undercover maneuvers.
You'll learn how to use teamwork, critical thinking, problem solving skills & discipline. As aspiring agent, you'll develop self-confidence and a sense of personal achievement by learning evasive go-kart driving techniques, martial arts, coordinated rapid room entries, and finding your way by reading the stars!
Your skills will also be challenged on our 60-foot tall rope course, climbing wall and zip-line. And, if that's not enough, get ready for paintball, paintball and more paintball on ten acres of thrilling fields. If you've got the guts and are ready for some glory, Secret Agent Camp is for you!

HOLLYWOOD STUNT CAMP (Ages 10-16)

You're looking down 40 feet at a mark that's the size of your hand. The wind is rapidly blowing. The director is yelling, the producer wants the next shot! As for you, it's just you and your fall and how the pad will feel.
Welcome to Hollywood Stunt Camp! The place where you will learn exciting high falls, such as headers, and back-falls, as well as hand-to-hand combat, shoulder rolls, and how to choreograph your own fight scene. All of this will be done with a professional stuntman in a safe and fun environment.
Whether you hope to double for a major motion picture star, or just want to experience a pure adrenaline rush, Hollywood Stunt Camp will keep you on, and off, the edge of your seat!!

ROCK STAR CAMP (Ages 10-16)

Future Britney's, Justin's, and Avril's, here is your chance to get a taste of the business! Join us for the Rock Star Camp and flex your singing muscles under the guidance of professional singers, songwriters, and producers.
Write your own songs, sing along to your favorites, and learn voice techniques to sound like the professionals. Our state-of-the art sound studios are complete with all the latest equipment to create a CD with you as the star. Perform songs of all genres, ranging from hip-hop, pop, dance, and alternative to prepare to be the next American Idol!
Our program is designed for imaginative and innovative singers/ songwriters who want to create their own musical masterpieces. If you have music running through your veins and an ear for tunes, then join the Rock Star Camp and step on to the path of singing success!

FILM INSTITUTE (Ages 10-16)

"Lights, Camera, ACTION!" If what you really want to do is direct, you'll get your chance at the Pali Film Institute.
Professional directors teach storyboarding, shot list creation, casting, shooting, and editing. Spend a day learning the basic techniques of film direction, and expand your cinematography and editing skills, plus learn how to work with actors! Using our state of the art computers with Blue Screen technology, After Effects and Final Cut Pro programs, make the impossible, possible!
After all the hard work is done, screen your original masterpiece at the Pali Film Festival and take home a personalized DVD to showcase your work to family, friends and future producers! So, if you want to make a screwball comedy, action spectacular or fright fest then Pali Film Institute is for you!

ACTING ACADEMY (Ages 10-16)

Learn what your director really wants when they call "action". Under the tuition of professional actors and directors, you will learn this fascinating art of performance for the screen. Learning your lines, blocking for the camera, developing your character and maintaining a consistent performance, it is all covered here.
Audition for a role in a movie made right here at the Pali studios, written and directed by campers attending the Film Institute. After many takes, and read-trough's, your polished performance will be taped and you'll take home an exciting DVD reel to showcase your talents. The scene is set, the lights are up, and Rolling!
Spend your afternoon enjoying your choice of 75 exciting camp activities such as mini-bikes, skateboarding, paintball, horseback riding, ropes course, jet skiing, arts & crafts, dance, dirt boarding, swimming, and more. Pali boasts heated cabins with indoor bathroom and shower facilities and a main lodge that houses a dining facility and five star dining.

EXTREME ACTION ADVENTURE CAMP (Ages 10-16)

If danger is your middle name, and safety is your moms, then this is the specialty for you! Extreme Action Adventure Camp is dirt-filled, adrenaline-pumped, and action packed.
Fly through the air on an ATV, learn tricks, jumps, and maneuvers on mini bikes, skate ollies and kick flips, do drop ins, 180s, shuv-its, backside and front side flips all in a safe setting taught by professionals. Next, you and your bike can ride the ski lift to the top of Snow Summit Ski Resort, and rip it up like the experts on the ride down. Or you can weave your way down the dry ski slope tobogganing! Fly down at speeds up to 20 miles per hour - don't forget to hang on!
You'll also scale our amazing rock wall, traverse the wind-whipping ropes course, ride the breeze on a parasail, and learn the art of kendo - Japanese sword fighting, all under the supervision of our qualified and experienced instructors in our safe and secure setting, where safety is number one.

SPA AND WELLBEING CAMP (Ages 10-16)

At Pali Spa and Wellbeing Camp, practice the art of yoga, study nutrition and healthy cooking, and learn etiquette and impeccable manners. Also learn exercise and stretching skills, receive spa treatments, and practice Zen meditation techniques.
But don't think this camp is all lying around and massages! You will learn the nutritional value of the foods and perform exercise routines that guarantee to have you feeling and looking great. Each day learn a different beauty procedure such as facials, manicures, pedicures, aromatherapy and hot rock massages.

We feature a small, but challenging cross-country course around our 23 acres, as well as a round pen and arena complete with 10-12 jumps. We also have swimming pool that invites games, especially volleyball. The kids live in a new 24 foot yurt type tent.
Because of our size our program is personalized and comfortable for first-timers. This is a place where kids can just be kids for a week or two.

Campers enjoy daily riding lessons and horsemanship activities with fun and educational games both on and off of the horses. This is a program that aims at giving kids a good sense of working with and around horses while having lots of fun and being safe. Other activities include some arts & crafts, creek play time, cooking and just being a kid at a barn! Camp sessions are limited to 10 campers in order to give everyone more individual attention in their riding and work with the horses. We have a wide range of horses and ponies available for all ages and levels.

Shady Lawn Ranch. We offer Western and English riding instruction and give campers the opportunity to help give total care of the horse so they learn what its like to own a horse. If your child keeps pestering you about wanting a horse, this is the camp for you. We also offer a program for higher level riders as well. Youth camps are scheduled regularly throughout the summer and during school breaks.

In each camp you will learn about horses - how to ride them and how to care for them. Each of the five different programs for children focuses on different aspects of horse care and riding. All camps are conducted by owner Judy Gerhard. Judy has over 35 years experience in riding instruction and has been breeding and showing arabians for over 20 years. She has experience in both english and western riding, has been a part of riding clubs, drill teams, parades (including seven years in the Tournament of Roses), 4-H, endurance riding, trail riding, horse training, and therapeutic riding instruction. She has run horse camps for children for over 10 years.
