Since 1950, the Idyllwild Arts Summer Program, formerly known as ISOMATA, has offered intensive workshops in dance, film/video, music, theater, visual arts and writing to students of all ages and abilities. Nestled at the mile-high level in the San Jacinto Mountains of Southern California, the 205-acre Idyllwild Arts campus is located in one of the most spectacular natural settings in the West.

In SNAP PHOTOGRAPHY CAMP, kids will master their social media world through digital photography. Students will select photos from their collected works which will be included in a portfolio to enjoy for years to come.

At PAW’s SPORTS CAMP, (ages 8 – 14) why stick to one sport when you can play them all? You will discover the joy of sports by focusing on a new sport each day. Our Sports-of-the-day approach allows kids to learn the rules, techniques and drills for that day’s sport in the mornings and apply what they’ve learned in an afternoon scrimmage. 3 Day Workshop for Teens
(For your camera crazy teenager)
Instructors: Tom Upton and Nicole Marshall

In today’s modern world, the Camera is the thing! Visual communication skills are key to your child's academic experience. This is a three-day course led by professional photographer, Tom Upton. Based on photographic fundamentals of exposure, color and composition, your teen will learn how to use the controls of their camera to get better photographs. This is a stop-and-get-off-the-bus tour of Adobe Photoshop elements 6. We will cover photo editing techniques for online slideshows, Facebook and Flickr galleries. We will teach basic print making on common household color printers so your child can be a champ on the yearbook staff or with those semester-end project presentations. We also have some plain old fun with the joy of photography.

Lunches, snacks, a course booklet and a 10 image 8x10 portfolio (yes, of your child's photos) is included.

Space is limited to six students, ages 13-19. (Sorry, grown-ups, we'll offer this class for you, later in the year!)

Requirements: Students are required to bring a good laptop and Adobe PhotoShop Elements 6 (can use free 30-day trial and/or also available for approximately $80 at Fry’s or Costco) for this class. Also required is at least a point and shoot camera. A DSLR camera is preferable. Although there are excellent uses for both point and shoot cameras and DSLR cameras, the better the camera your student has, the more your student will learn for future use.

This fashion, photo, and modeling camp is an exciting opportunity for you models out there who are between the ages of 9-19. There will be 2 three week camps, the second starting on July 25, both costing $300.00. I will be teaching different techniques and you will be able to participate in multiple photo-shoots as well as get the opportunity to be selected for a fashion show. Since 2003, PlanetBravo's Techno-tainment Camp has been allowing kids to explore their love of computers and technology, while still ensuring plenty of fun in the sun! Campers at Techno-tainment Camp work in one-week sessions on chosen projects from one of over a dozen fun and exciting courses.

PlanetBravo has several locations throughout the greater Los Angeles area, and camps are available for students entering grades 2-9. Campers design their own program, choosing the activities they like best while making friends and working with our amazingly fun staff. It doesn't matter if you are shy or outgoing, young or old, everyone is treated like a rock star! Ride horses, make films, be in a rock band, act, sing, dance, swim, hike and play!! L.I.T Program: The Leadership in Training (LIT) Program is a dynamic leadership training for students interested in bettering themselves and the world around them. This two week training program is at once educational, transformative, hard work and tons of fun!!! Instead of participating in regular workshops with the campers, as a selected group of leaders, they attend workshops designed to improve communication, conflict resolution, team building, time management, public speaking and other skills necessary to be successful in college and in the workplace. Participants leave having learned a lot while making new friends and lifelong memories. Graduation from the program is NOT a guarantee for job placement with uCamps, but it is a prerequisite for students interested in working for uCamps in the future. In the second week of the program, L.I.T.s work directly with the campers; leading games and activities, working in the cabin and serving as positive role models.

California State Summer School for the Arts (InnerSpark) is a rigorous, pre-professional, month-long residential training program for talented students aspiring to careers in the arts and entertainment industries. It is a unique opportunity for gifted young artists to unleash their creativity in an educational environment devoted solely to the arts. What sets InnerSpark apart from other schools for the arts and similar arts programs are: 1) The high quality of its student body, which is determined through rigorous competition; 2) The socioeconomic and ethnic diversity of the students, which is due to the fact that no Californian is denied admission solely because of the inability to pay the tuition and fees; 3) A curriculum which emphasizes process over product. Established by the California State Legislature in 1985 as a state agency funded through a public/private partnership, InnerSpark selects high school students from grades 9 through 12 based on individual applications in animation, creative writing, dance, film and video, music, theatre and the visual arts. The admissions process for InnerSpark is highly competitive. Fewer than one in three applicants are typically accepted each year. Students from California’s more than 2,700 public and private secondary schools may apply. Approximately 500 are selected. In addition, a limited number of students from outside of California are invited to attend the program. The students selected for InnerSpark are named California Arts Scholars and receive the Governor’s Medallion, California’s highest distinction for artistically talented students. The California State Summer School Arts Foundation provides financial aid for InnerSpark students based on need. Over its nineteen year history, more than nine thousand and two hundred young artists have honed their skills in the school’s intensive, multi-disciplinary artistic environment. InnerSpark teachers are accomplished artists, entertainment professionals and distinguished college and university instructors. The school strives to engage teachers who are practicing, professional artists. Faculty members are selected based on their artistic achievements, in addition to their teaching abilities. Along with regular faculty, many internationally prominent artists, writers and performers have worked with students at the school, including composer John Adams, choreographer Donald Byrd, composer/songwriter Mike Stoller, author Iris Dart, actress Helen Hunt, Pulitzer Prize winner cartoonist/playwright Jules Feiffer, and others.

Since 2003, PlanetBravo's Techno-tainment Camp has been allowing kids to explore their love of computers and technology, while still ensuring plenty of fun in the sun! Campers at Techno-tainment Camp work in one-week sessions on chosen projects from one of over a dozen fun and exciting courses.

PlanetBravo has several locations throughout the greater Los Angeles area, and camps are available for students entering grades 2-9. Courses taught by our skilled staff of counselors include Video Game Design, Movie Production and Special Effects, Robotics, LEGO Stop Motion Animation and so much more! Each week, all 30 campers will be assigned to their own computer, and with a minimum of 3 counselors per week, every child will get the individual attention they deserve.

New York Film Academy offers hands-on, accelerated summer and weekend camps at locations throughout the world. Students can select 1-6 week courses in filmmaking, acting for film, animation, broadcast journalism, screenwriting, music video production, musical theatre, photography and more! Choose from fully supervised locations (residential options available) including New York City; Universal Studios, Hollywood; Disney Studios, Florida; Harvard University; London, Paris; Florence, Italy; and Lugano, Switzerland.

The New York Film Academy is honored to be the film school of choice of many Hollywood filmmakers and their families, including the son of Steven Spielberg, the son of former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan and the sister of director Luc Besson (Fifth Element, La Femme Nikita).

The camps at each location are closely supervised while providing a nurturing environment that encourages students to take creative risks. As part of the camp experience, students take part in a range of extracurricular activities and field trips particular to each location.

Students reside in dormitories, resort hotels, and residential apartment complexes depending on the location. Dining facilities are offered at all of our U.S. locations; at our overseas locations, our students choose from local eateries and may cook their own meals. Housing is either on campus or conveniently located to our classroom facilities.

Quality adult supervision of the New York Film Academy high school camps is our highest concern. All of our workshops are fully supervised. Our counselors are 21 years and older, and many have their undergraduate degrees in filmmaking or acting. Counselors reside in the dormitories or in the hotel rooms adjacent to the students depending on the location.

Media Arts Center San Diego, producers of the San Diego Latino Film Festival, now offers Fall/Winter Youth Media & Tech Camps, to help usher in a new generation of filmmakers. The Fall/Winter Youth Media & Tech Camps are weeklong sessions, which run from November 21 to November 23, December 5 to December 9, December 12 to December 16 and December 19 to December 30. These 3 and 5 day Media and Tech Camps will focus on film making, stop motion and blogging!

Our camps teach campers will know how to collaborate with each other using media and technology arts, while engaging with others in an increasingly connected world. Learning these basic media tools in a fun and collective environment provides our campers with skills to utilize the newest media technologies in a positive and productive way. In turn, it will put them on a path for success in their future careers.

Geared for ages 9-14, they learn about various multi-media practices and software including stop motion animation, movie making, music recording, blogging, and more! These fun-filled camps run Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. At the end of the week, parents and family members are invited to a private screening of the work created by campers. They also receive a DVD of their work.

"We found the Media Arts Center on a lucky fluke. Wow, what a find! My two kids, ages 11 and 15 participated in the camp where they learned more about video production and the Internet than I have learned in my entire life. The facility has great equipment, computers, etc. and the instructors made the experience exceptional. The kids loved their time at the Center and learned valuable skills. They produced stop motion animation films, created a web page, and posted videos on You Tube. All in all, an awesome experience," says camp parent, William Ortiz.
