Spend the summer with horses at a horseback riding camp. Learn Western and English style of riding, jumping, as well as vaulting (gymnastics on horseback). At some horse camps, participation in horse shows and competitions are common. Proper care for horses and trail riding are often integral activities at most equestrian summer camps.

1. Riding Camp at Bentmallet Farms in Milton - Beginner to Advanced riders will enjoy intensive riding lessons and horsemanship at Bentmallet Farms. 30 years of top quality riding instrucion.

Bentmallet Farms Riding Camps offer a unique and very flexible summer camp experience. Camps run every week during the summer where we have a minimum of 3 and maximum of 5 riders. Our 9 lesson horses accomodate riders of every level.

Camps run M-F from 9:00 - 1:00. Each day will include approximately 90 minutes of horsemanship/grooming/barnwork; 90 minutes of riding; 30 minutes for lunch and 30 minutes for another horsey activity.

Experience real riding at a working barn where we are not fancy, just friendly.

Horse Summer camp loaded with fun and learning. Camp is limited per session for safety and quality. High quality instruction for both English and Western by qualified trainers. Fun horse games, knowledge and lots of extra horse learning. Arts and craft, this camp is quality with FUN! Sessions include June 14th - June 18th; June 28th - July 2nd; July 19th - July 23rd. Wonderful, Safe lesson horses for all level riders! Owner/Trainer lives on premises. We offer year-round lessons, showing, boarding, etc. Campers learn about general horse care/ horsemanship, daily riding lesson, horse related arts and crafts each day. Campers receive their own brushes/grooming supplies and CCF camp T-shirt. Riding lessons in large outdoor ring with full course of jumps as well as rides in the pasture/trail.

Camp Toccoa, owned and operated by Camp Fire USA Georgia Council, has been enriching the lives of children and families for over 80 years. Throughout our rich history we have made use of our natural setting on 150 acres in beautiful Northeast Georgia. Our trails, waterfalls, lake, ropes course, nature center, lodge, and other activity areas help campers learn about and enjoy nature.

We offer Self Awareness and Self Esteem programs for girls taught through horses. With horse exercises girls learn about themselves, listen to their own voice, and give them the confidence to be themselves, and love themselves, in todays times.Thesea are life skills for girls, women and families of all ages. We offer year long camps, break camps and summer camps as well as special individual programs and retreats. Contact us for our week long summer camp programs with girls and horses or for more information on other retreats and programs. Our girls programs are done with horses as the teachers and all the life lessons and life skills are taught through directed interaction with the horses. We spend time going over what is your own voice, what is not, and how to be confident and love yourself enough to stand in your own centered space honoring your own voice. These are crucial skills for anyone today. Space is limited for quality of enviornment and teaching. We created a safe space for girls to be girls and feel confident to step out into who they are or want to be with love and confidence. We teach how to set good boundaries, what our emotions can tell us and how to have a positive outlook on life.

8. Aerie Experiences - With a 1:2 staff-to-camper ratio, Aerie provides unique experiences for children and teens with Aspergers, ADHD, High-Functioning Autism, Learning Disabilities or other Neurobiological Disorders. We integrate and promote the overall individual treatment plan of each client. Aerie staff coordinate directly with parents, practitioners and educators providing ongoing services.

June 2-8, 2013: Llama Adventure Base Camp
Our Llama Adventure Base Camp features llamas as pack animals, trail companions and therapeutic assistants. Our group will form a base camp in Pisgah National Forest, NC, from which we will we embark on daily adventures. Campers lead, feed and care for their llama, and the llamas, carry equipment and food, provide unconditional acceptance, and demonstrate, along with the herd, how to be part of a cooperative team/community. The llamas form a protective relationship toward their human partners, which gives participants a sense of security and invites campers to be part of the team. This camp also includes opportunities for adventure based counseling, group games, camp craft and primitive skills for those who want to learn. Limit 7 campers, ages 8-13.

June 15-22, 2013: Coastal Expedition & Sail Camp
Our Coastal Expedition includes camping on Sapelo Island, where campers will explore the forested uplands, the vast salt marshes and the complex beach and dunes systems – as well as play a lot of camp games and learn to surf cast. Campers will also sail, paddle, fish, create arts & crafts and explore the possibilities of self within the possibilities of the wild. A one-day protected inlet and tidal marsh paddle will provide opportunities for finding treasures like ancient shark teeth and shells. Our coastal expedition is a beautiful and fun setting for exploration and development of friendship, self-awareness and social emotional growth under the guidance of Aerie’s experienced and professional staff. Limit 8 campers, Ages 10—14.

June 30 – July 6, 2013: Horse Ranch Adventure Camp
Our Horse Ranch Adventure Camp happens on Cedar Creek Cattle Ranch, a working ranch on more than 300 acres of land on the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee. On the ranch, campers will live the life of a ranch hand, residing in bunkhouses and developing a relationship with their own individual horse. Campers will feed, brush, ride and care for their horse throughout the week. We will also take our horses and explore Big South Fork National Park, and more adventurous campers can choose to camp overnight in the park with their horse (accompanied by staff). Campers will also develop a sense of community through group living, arts & crafts, adventure-based counseling activities and group games. While on the ranch, campers will visit the natural bridges and rock formations of the Cumberland Plateau. Throughout the week, campers will become the heroes of their own stories while learning new skills like primitive fire building, camp craft and outdoor cooking. No equine experience needed. Limit 12 campers, Ages 8-14.

July 14 - 20, 2013: Llama Trek Expedition
This expedition features llamas as pack animals, trail companions and therapeutic assistants, and the journey takes place in Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina. Our Llama Trek Expedition is a lot like our Llama Adventure Base Camp, but on the go. Instead of forming a central base camp, our campers will hike with their llamas to new camp locations throughout the week. Campers lead, feed and care for their own llama, and the llamas, in turn, carry equipment and food, provide unconditional acceptance, and demonstrate, along with the herd, how to be part of a cooperative team/community. The llamas form a protective relationship toward their human partners, which gives participants a sense of security and invites campers to be part of the team. This expedition also includes opportunities for adventure based counseling, group games, camp craft and primitive skills for those who want to learn. Limit 7 campers, Ages 13-18.

9. Green Acres Equestrian Center Summer Camp - Secure gated equestrian center offers safe english riding lessons under covered arena; educational equine activities and arts & crafts in A/C lounge.

Green Acres Equestrian Center, LLC (est. in 2002), offers a secure, gated, safe, well established, highly organized and immaculate weekly day camp each summer. Certified Riding instructor along with three assistants maintain a 1:2 teacher to camper ratio with a maximum of eight campers each week.
Campers enjoy daily english riding lessons and learn horsemanship skills under a well ventilated covered arena and enjoy horse themed arts and crafts and equine educational activities in an A/C campers' lounge. They attend camp M-F, 9-2, and demonstrate their new learned riding skills in a horse show for their parents, grandparents, and friends on Friday.
