The crystal clear, warm waters of southeastern North Carolina are beckoning…….come immerse yourself in the incredible sport of surfing this summer! Learn how to predict, select, and judge waves and discover why some breaks are better than others. Explore and surf several different barrier islands, learning not only how to surf, but about surfing culture, etiquette, and safety that will allow you to grow as a surfer and increase your skills in the water. We’ll tour a local surfboard factory owned by one of the East Coast’s top shapers, and learn about rehabilitating sea turtles at the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital. Explore the 84,000 square-foot Fort Fisher Aquarium and catch crabs, clams, and other varieties of marine life in our salt marsh backwaters. See firsthand what it is like to live on a college campus. We cater to the absolute beginner, and our staff of professional instructors will take you to the next level. Surf Camp is all about focus and full immersion in this incredible sport.

During our incredible teen travel adventure, you will learn about the islands geology, history, and ecology the right way! Imagine yourself standing on world famous surfing beaches including, Waimea Bay, Sunset Beach,and Pipeline. Get a chance to ride the long waves of south shore while having the time of your life. YMCA Camp H.R. Erdman is located on the beautiful North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii and has been the place for conferences, retreats, camps and family reunions since 1926. Nestled between the Waianae Mountains and pristine beaches of Mokuleia, Camp Erdman provides the perfect camp setting.

YMCA Camp Erdman serves over 20,000 people annually through our environmental education and leadership curriculum, family and resident camps, as well as our numerous international and mainland group programs. The camp also offers many conference and meeting opportunities. Camp continues to be an inclusive organization serving children, youth, men and women of all ages, faiths and backgrounds. Camp Erdman has facilities that are wheelchair accessible and meet the current ADA standards.
