Camp Kupugani multicultural camp for girls is a unique program that promotes diversity and empowerment of young women. Less than two hours west of Chicago, our residential program focuses on diversity and communication skills in a fun atmosphere—uniting girls of varied backgrounds and providing them with empowerment and community-building skills, so they expand comfort zones and build self-esteem. Less than two hours west of Chicago, the camp environment comprises almost 120 acres of nature's finest, including woods, trails, a swimming pool, rock climbing walls, game fields, and a 5-acre lake for swimming, water games, and almost a mile of canoeing through the property. The girls enjoy activities like rock climbing, river walking, canoeing, playing under waterfalls, and night hikes under the stars, plus carefully designed group activities and games so that fun and personal growth coincide.
Comments from our campers bear out our program’s positive effect on all our campers. “Camp Kupugani helped me want to keep my heart in its path.” “I love Camp Kupugani, because it gives me challenging opportunities to do better. It gives me more knowledge about life and teaches me to be brave and try new things. It gives me great and fun experiences.” “Camp Kupugani helped me by teaching me that being different is okay. It is what makes our world special.” “I love Camp Kupugani, because we can have fun and be ourselves at the same time.” “Camp Kupugani helped me communicate. It also helped me overcome obstacles and really think.”
Although many overnight camps across the United States cater to only particular populations, a distinct scarcity allows children to partake in a purposefully multicultural camp experience. By specially recruiting a diverse group of campers and counselors, we properly support a program of multiculturalism and diversity. All of our girls have fun changing their world! | |
