Since 1999 over 130,000 students worldwide have immersed in hands-on learning to create iPhone apps, programs with C++ and Java, video games, websites, movies, 3D models, ad designs, robots, films, and photos. Beginner to advanced students ages 7-17 enroll in these fun and challenging, weeklong, day and overnight summer camps held at 60 prestigious universities nationwide (see below).

Small class sizes (max 8:1) are guaranteed and taught by adult-only instructors, with Teens, pre-Teens, and younger students separated into different classes. Kids come to TIC not just to gain experience with computers, but for a kind of personal attention, excitement and creativity rarely found elsewhere. TIC's technology instruction is personally challenging, and the half day of sports offers a physical challenge to balance the mental stimulation of the technology. TIC is a place where Technology Is Cool, but it is still camp. Campers choose their own goals and benefit from a 4:1 teaching ratio! The camper counselor relationship is paramount. At TIC we believe that independence, intellectual rigor, affectionate appreciation, creative learning and fun all go together. AT TIC, KIDS LEARN BY HAVING FUN!

3. Washington College Geospatial Discoveries Summer Program - Geospatial technology is used in many fields. This Program focuses on the use of geospatial technologies in the fields of 3D Visualization and Virtual World Development, Crime Analysis and Mapping, and Marine Exploration and Discovery.

Washington College’s Geospatial Discoveries Summer Program offers a unique summer experience for kids in grades 7-12. Program attendees will spend one week at Washington College exploring many areas of this growing field. In combination with GIS, participants will also explore the depths of the Chester River, and create a 3D replica of a building or some other feature in a virtual world. By the end of the week participants will walk away with an understanding of geospatial technologies and how they are used in everyday life.

Camp runs from June 24th to June 30th, 2012.

We are located on Sandy Spring Friends School’s beautiful, 140-acre, wooded campus. We are located near Olney, Wheaton, Rockville, and Silver Spring.

Campers love our performing arts center, ropes course, nature trails, two gymnasiums, playgrounds, art barn, natural swimming pond, and computer labs.
