The Dexter and Southfield Schools in Brookline offer what some parents call “one-stop camping.” For kids ages 4 through 15 and interests ranging from sports to drama, the Schools offer seven camps in one, including two 1-week overnight programs at their Cape Cod marine science facility. With seven school bus routes covering many towns around the Boston area, parents can put all their children on one bus and off they go to Day Camp, Science Camp, Hockey Camp Enrichment Camp, Tennis Camp, or take the Mon-Fri shuttle down to Cape Cod for Marine Science or Sailing Camps. The camps offer 8 weeks of program from mid-June to August (June 18 – Aug 10). Depending on the program, prices range from $295 to $895 per week. Over 70 activities at the various day camps, depending on age group, can include model rocketry, astronomy, ham radio, electronics, LEGO robotics, yoga, stained glass, canoeing, theatre, fencing, archery, tennis, ice hockey, and swimming. At the overnight camps on Cape Cod, sailing, kayaking, swimming, and marine science are the primary activities. Some of the specialty programs tend to fill quickly, so parents should make choices by mid-March. There are several open houses during the spring, although private campus tours may be requested at any time.
