1. School of Rock Music Camp - 4 Music Camps Offerings: Beginner Guitar Camp, Intermediate Guitar Camp, Performance Camp and Songwriting Camp!
Day Camp - Coed - St. Paul, Minnesota

Twin Cities youth musicians prefer the Paul Green School of Rock Music camps. The instructors are all working rock musicians and guest speakers range from touring rock musicians to audio technicians to music professionals.

For 2009 we are offering 4 different types of camps: Beginner Guitar Camp (3 sessions one for ages 8 - 16), Intermediate Guitar Camp (1 session for ages 10 - 18), Rock and Roll Performance Camp (1 session for ages 12- 18) and the Song Writing Camp (1 session for ages 10-18). There are always 5 students per 1 instructor, so there is a lot of one one one attention.

In addition to Summer Camps, the School of Rock offers year-round music lessons in the only performance-based after school music program in the Twin Cities. In this program the kids participate in 1-1 lessons, group rehearsals and perform real rock concerts in real rock venues.

For beginners to advanced musicians ages 8-15. If you never played an instrument, this is a fun and interactive way to get a jump-start. If you’re an experienced player, it’s your chance to study with the best musicians in town and perform in a band. Campers choose from guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, vocals or horns and learn from our professional teachers in a friendly and creative curriculum-based environment.

Camp hours are Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM. During the week campers will:

o Develop creativity
o Improve musicianship
o Gain confidence in performing
o Learn teamwork skills
o Build self-esteem
o Aspire to further develop their musical skills
o Participate in a Friday Night Concert for family and friends
o Every concert is recorded and each camper receives a CD or MP3 file at the end of the summer.

COURSES
DMA offers day and overnight courses in weekly and multi-week sessions for youth, age 7-18. DMA courses accommodate a wide variety of digital media interests in a more sophisticated learning environment than other summer computer camps. All courses are project based and taught by accomplished professionals who have a passion for inspiring young minds. An average student to instructor ratio of 6 to 1 allows for plenty of individual attention as students explore, create and immerse themselves in an environment that is more like a production studio than a classroom.

THE TEEN EXPERIENCE
DMA’s teen courses for 2009 include Robotics, Digital Filmmaking, 3D Animation, Web Production, Programming, and Music and Video Production - just to name a few.
Teens may commute or stay on campus in university housing. Separate DMA couselor staff live in the dorm coordinating evening and weekend activities while ensuring a fun and safe experience for everyone. Teens living on campus receive breakfast, lunch and dinner in a university dining hall. Commuting students may purchase a dining hall lunch pass or buy their own lunch at one of several restaurants on campus.

THE YOUTH EXPERIENCE
DMA’s 2009 youth courses (called Digital Media Adventures) include Robotics, Digital Filmmaking, Game Creation, Web Design & Flash, Cartoon & Comic Book Creation and Surfing & Filmmaking. To create a more balanced experience, we incorporate outdoor recreation breaks throughout the day – we beleive, like you, that kids should move! Additional activities, such as sports, board games and weekend adventures are offered to youth in our residential program.

4. Bemidji State University MusiCamp - The Bemidji State University Summer Musicamp has two session in the same week: instrumental/jazz camp, and piano camp

Bemidji State University's Musicamp is now in its 63rd year. Students at both the instrumental/jazz camp and piano camp have the opportunity to participate in large and small ensembles, and have private lessons. Classes in music history, music technology, music theory, rhythm, conducting, and jazz improvisation are offered. Special events include a faculty recital and a student recital/talent show. All students participate in the public concerts that conclude each week-long session.

5. Girls Rock N Roll Retreat - Girls Rock N Roll Retreat empowers girls through the art of music. Girls are put in bands, write songs and put on a rock concert at the end of the week.

Girls Rock N Roll Retreat, Minnesota's first Girls Rock Camp is an annual day camp (9am-5pm daily) that offers 5 days of music lessons, playing in a band, art classes, exciting workshops and a big Friday night rock concert. Our camp is offered to girls who play or want to learn electric guitar, electric bass, drums, keyboards or vocals. We accept girls of all levels on each instrument. We use music as a means to increase self-confidence, team work and friendship in our campers. In addition to our music emphasis, we offer seminars and workshops about body image, self-esteem, self defense and more!

6. St. Olaf Summer Music Camp - High school students from around the nation join in this intense and exciting week of music-making under the direction of the internationally acclaimed St. Olaf College music faculty.
Resident Camp - Day Camp - Coed - Northfield, Minnesota

This performance-based experience will challenge and encourage you to stretch your musical abilities. Everyone participates in at least one large ensemble (band, choir, or orchestra); participation in a second large ensemble is possible, as well. You will complete your day by attending the elective classes you choose. Two private lessions are included with camp tuition.
This music camp is located at St. Olaf College, in historic Northfield, Minnesota, 40 miles south of the Twin Cities metro area. The St. Olaf music program has a strong reputation here and abroad. The music department's acclaimed faculty will conduct the band, choir, and orchestra.
