1. Fairview Lake YMCA Camps - Fairview Lake YMCA is a traditional and adventure based sleepaway camp located on 660 acres of pristine forests and fields around a 110 acre lake. Since 1915, we have provided quality summer camping for thousands of children.

FOR KIDS ONLY...keep reading! Everything you want from a summer camp is at Fairview Lake YMCA. When you sign up for our traditional sleep away camp, you get to make your own schedule and choose the activities you like most! Our great activities include windsurfing/sailing, archery, arts & crafts, canoeing, rock climbing, dance, drama, in-line skating, kayaking, high and low-ropes courses, snorkeling, street hockey, swimming, voice, guitar, and of course tons of other sports options. We also have a horseback riding camp and other specialty camps for tennis, fine arts, sailing/windsurfing. Some of these specialty camps are only for boys and others are only for girls. If you are the adventurous type, you might want to sign up for one of our challenging adventure trips where you can do some real rock climbing, backpacking, canoeing safaris, fishing, biking or cave exploring.

We have over 600 acres of forests and fields, a 70,000-acre national park in our backyard and a mile-long beautiful lake for you to explore. Our kids and counselors come from all over the world. C'mon, make new friends and learn something new. Parents, our kids will want to make Fairview Lake their home away from home!

2. Appel Farm Arts Camp - Appel Farm is a vibrant, artistic, and accepting community with over 50 years of excellence and programs in music, theater, dance, visual arts, photography, video, recording arts, and creative writing, sports and swim.

For more than 50 years, summers at Appel Farm have sparked the imaginations of thousands of young people as they interacted with artists from around the world in a beautiful part of rural southern New Jersey. Safety, community, personal growth, and fun have always guided our program and continue to ensure that every child experiences a summer that will last a lifetime. Our dynamic learning program, with classes in music, theater, dance, visual arts, photography, video, recording arts, and creative writing, sports and swim, places emphasis on the creative process, hands-on learning and collaborative projects as campers work toward performances and exhibitions for their families to enjoy at the end of each session. With a balanced schedule of classes, free-time, workshops, trips, campfires, performances and special events, summers at Appel Farm are full of fun!

Most of our campers, boys and girls age 9-17, attend for 4 weeks, though a two-week session is a great way to try out camp for the first time. Sessions can be combined in order to stay for 6 or 8 weeks. With only two opening days, campers start together for each set of sessions.

It’s not easy being green…but we’re gonna try! From global climate change to endangered animals around the globe, it’s never too soon to get kids involved in helping our planet! Join us as we learn about ways to save the oceans and the critters that call them home.

Your child's week will be filled with field trips, hands on activities, behind the scenes and exhibit tours at Adventure Aquarium, crafts, games, a 4D Theatre Show and up-close animal encounters.

Camp runs Monday - Friday from 9am - 3:30pm. Extended care until 5:30pm is available for an additional fee.

Campers must bring their own lunch, but an afternoon snack will be provided. Discounts available for Adventure Aquarium Passport Holders, siblings and multiple weeks. Box lunches are also available for purchase.

4. Fernbrook Farms Education Center - Fiddlehead Day Camp - Every day your children will choose from new activities to broaden their world and their connections to nature, history, farm life and ecology.

Fernbrook Farms Education Center offers Fiddlehead Day Camp (age 6-11) and Young Stewards Enrichment Program (age 12-14) weekly from the end of June to Labor Day. Your children may join us for one week or as many weeks as you wish. Days begin at 8:30am and run until 4:00pm with extended care available before and after the camp day. Healthy snacks are provided and campers are expected to bring a nutritious lunch.

Here at Fernbrook, your kids will become dirty and tired, but that’s what happens when kids are truly active and experience nature firsthand! Our goal is that each child leaves our farm with a sixth sense: a sense of appreciation of the natural world, agriculture, and healthy lifestyles.

Fun-filled Fernbrook activities might include:
• catching frogs and insects while exploring the ponds and creeks
• harvesting vegetables from our Children’s Garden
• starting a campfire with a bow drill
• crafting musical instruments from natural objects
• feeding and caring for the farm animals
• building a shelter and learning about wilderness survival

Since 1981 over 9,000 students have joined us for world-class adventures in some of the world’s most breathtaking destinations. Our students make connections with peers and leaders, with their natural surroundings and especially with themselves. Longacre offers the summer of a lifetime!

Longacre Expeditions offers some of the most unique multi-sport adventures in the industry for Student Grades 5-12. Ice climbing and Eco-Service in Iceland. Surfing and Caving in Costa Rica/Panama. Falconry and Surfing in Ireland. Mountaineering and Leadership training in Colorado and Alaska. Sailing and snowboarding in The Pacific Northwest. Schooner sailing and sea kayaking in Maine. Bike touring in Nova Scotia. Multi-sport adventures in New Hampshire, the Outer Banks, Oregon, and Washington!

Groups of 10-15 kids and their leaders are an ideal size to foster leadership skills, effective communication, confidence building, and fun. 6. Bayshore Discovery Project Maritime Camp - Exciting and educational camping adventures onboard the historic oyster schooner AJ MEERWALD. Campers become part of the AJ MEERWALD’S crew, sailing and living aboard an historic tall ship.

There are two camps offered by Bayshore Discovery Project:

Maritime Camps; Five days, Four nights, for Ages 13 to 17

Maritime campers become part of the AJ MEERWALD’S crew, sailing and living aboard an historic tall ship. Campers learn to raise and furl sails, coil lines, navigate and steer the ship. With deckwashes, sea chanteys, knots and standing watch, campers will truly become a tall ship sailor! The program also incorporates our award winning education program connecting and teaching campers about the environment and how we all affect it. Campers help to preform trawls, catching various sea animals in our trawl net, monitoring water quality, analyzing plankton of the local water environment, and learning about local watersheds.

The first 2012 camp is from July 2-July 6 and begins in Liberty State Park, NJ and finishes in New London, CT where the 2012 OP Sail will be for the weekend. So bring the family for a fun weekend of viewing tall ships from around the world.

The second maritime camp will start in Atlantic City, NJ and finish in Cape May, NJ from July 30-August 3. On the last day, each camp offers a campers and parents sail at 1:30 so that the young sailors can show their parents what they accomplished and learned all week.

Cost $750 includes meals and all accommodations


Sailor For A Day: for Ages 10 to 16, 9:00am to 4:00pm

Campers aboard our Sailor For A Day program learn how to become a member of the crew. The morning begins with an introduction to the ship. Campers then help raise sail so we can get on our way! They also participate in our award winning educational program, learning all about our environment and how we affect it. They help to monitor water quality, help trawl for fish and other sea animals, learn about our local watershed, and so much more! In the afternoon, campers learn the skills of the maritime trade including navigation, important knots, how to stand bow watch, and even learn how to steer the boat!

Cost: $70 – Bring lunch water bottle, and sunscreen.
The AJ MEEWALD travels throughout the state of New Jersey so look for us at a port near you! 2012 dates are as follows:
