Campers at Appel Farm are welcomed into a vibrant, artistic, and accepting community with a 50-year history of excellence. Campers of varied ages, experience levels and cultural backgrounds work together, gaining confidence in their skills as artists and feeling invigorated in their studies. They are encouraged to take full advantage of this unique opportunity for artistic and personal growth, to experiment and take chances, and to vigorously engage themselves in the arts!

Campers choose from our programs in music, theater, dance, visual arts, photography, video, recording arts, creative writing, sports and swim to design their own dynamic camp experience. Individual lessons, ensemble rehearsals and studio classes culminate in performances and exhibitions for an enthusiastic community.

We offer two, four and eight-week sessions for boys and girls age 9-17. Full Session runs from June 28-August 21, First Session runs from June 28-July 24, Second Session runs from July 26-August 21, Mini Session I runs from June 28-July 12, and Mini Session II runs from July 26-August 9, 2009. During this weeklong, day and overnight program, ages 7-17 experience summer tech fun. Students create 2D and 3D video games, model 3D characters with Maya®, modify popular games like Unreal Tournament® 3, design websites with Flash®, build robots then compete against their classmates, learn programming, create a digital arts portfolio, film & edit digital movies, produce stunning blockbuster special effects and more.

With an average of just six students per instructor, students receive hands-on, project-based instruction from fun, tech-savvy staff and are given the attention they need to excel. Students complete a project by the end of the week while also getting first-hand exposure to a university which they may consider attending. By the end of the week students gain a sense of empowerment, independence and self-confidence as they learn to articulate their creativity through technology.
