He had reached his maximum using the throwing style he had, and after only six lessons he started to get used to the new style, embrace it, and boy did it work! His championship throw at the NEPSTA meet capped off a difficult transition that initially cost him distance and then gave him the foundation to become the best thrower in the New England Prep Schools. Your constant care for him and taking the time to speak with him when he had questions was a great help. We're looking forward to seeing what he can do in the Ivy League next year! **Let's see... from the beginning of our practicing it has been an all around new experience. Emotionally, mentally, and physically I have changed and matured as a javelin thrower and a person throughout my experience (so far). Erik is not only the best javelin thrower I have ever seen but he is passionate and patient and utmost believes in what the javelin symbolizes. **A Parent's Perspective…My son Pat has been receiving one on one javelin coaching sessions with Erik for almost a year now. We are very pleased with Pat's progress and plan on continuing these coaching sessions. Erik is very professional in his coaching and has a unique ability to convey his knowledge of the correct skills involved in throwing the javelin. Pat has not only gained in his ability to throw the javelin with correct form, but has also learned a lot of the intricate details involved in the body's movements and positions while throwing.
