Campers at Appel Farm are welcomed into a vibrant, artistic, and accepting community with a 50-year history of excellence. Campers of varied ages, experience levels and cultural backgrounds work together, gaining confidence in their skills as artists and feeling invigorated in their studies. They are encouraged to take full advantage of this unique opportunity for artistic and personal growth, to experiment and take chances, and to vigorously engage themselves in the arts!

Campers choose from our programs in music, theater, dance, visual arts, photography, video, recording arts, creative writing, sports and swim to design their own dynamic camp experience. Individual lessons, ensemble rehearsals and studio classes culminate in performances and exhibitions for an enthusiastic community.

We offer two, four and eight-week sessions for boys and girls age 9-17. Full Session runs from June 27-August 20, First Session runs from June 27-July 23, Second Session runs from July 25-August 20, Mini Session I runs from June 27-July 11, and Mini Session II runs from July 25-August 8, 2010. Our Summer Boot Camps are ideal programs for musicians ages 8-18. Students spend 2 weeks learning and working in a hands-on atmosphere honing their playing and performance expertise as well as learning valuable music industry-related skills. Not only will they meet and interact with other talented young musicians, they're also given unique access to established music professionals . Summer Boot Camps are the perfect introduction to The Paul Green School of Rock Music

Daily Academics, learn to make quick and easy snacks, meditate and yoga, swimming is weather permitting, building chracter, making usable crafts, tapping your own hidden talents.
More so you, children will learn to love math and language. You will love to learn, I promise.

Students will learn, in a group setting, how to:

write their own original songs - including lyrics and melody;
perform their songs together in a group;
rehearse their songs with their band;
record their songs in our in-house professional recording studio.

All students will take home a CD of all their original creations.

The Dance Connection’s
Performing Arts Camp
For all children going into kindergarten through 5th grade.

Fill your child’s day with laughter and fun. Each day children take classes in dancing, music, singing, acting, arts & crafts and create a musical production to present to family and friends at the end of the week.

Drop off between 8:00 - 9:00 a.m.
Camp activities from 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Pick up between 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Performance Fridays at 5:00.

Camp Activities include…

Circle Time
This is educational time. Children and teachers discuss dance, theatre and music related topics which could include theatre history, art history, music education, anatomy, or specific musicians, dancers or theatre personalities

Dance Technique Class
This ballet oriented class helps to warm the kids up for their day. Instructor uses a mix of traditional ballet music and popular music.

Jazz/Theatre Dance Class
This class features music and movement from poplular musicals as well as traditional jazz dance steps.

Art/painting Class
Children learn about the basic conventions of painting visual arts and scene construction.

Scenery Time
During this time children help to put together and paint the scenery for the end of the week show.

Singing Class
Children are taken through a series of age appropriate exercises which help improve their breathing, posture and pitch.

Music Class
Students use props and simple musical instruments to learn about rhythm, pitch and music theory.

Rehearsal
Children work on choreography and staging for the end of the week show.

Stretching/Yoga
This class usually meets at the end of the day to relax and focus the children before going home.

Rock-in Summer camp is a fun and exciting music day camp for boys and girls ages 10-17. Campers form bands, jam, rehearse, take lessons, record a CD, and have a final evening performance at a great venue on a stage with pro sound and lighting. Open to guitar,bass,keyboard, and singers.

The Paul Green School of Rock Music in Long Valley, NJ is offering boot camp for performers and audio engineering/recording. There will be 2 or 3-2 week camps in July and August 2009. Just look us up on the web for more information. Beginners to advanced players are welcome to join and there will be culminating performances for all participants.
