1. Camp Edey and Camp Sobaco (Girl Scouts of Suffolk County, Long Island, NY) - Girl Scouts of Suffolk County operates two beautiful camps in Bayport, NY (all girls) and Yaphank, NY (coed). Enjoy swimming, nature, arts and crafts, songs and games everyday! Bus transportation and lunch included!

Camp Edey, located on 95 acres of wetland preserve in Bayport serves girls entering 1st through 9th grade. A typical day runs from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Before and after camp care is available. Camp Edey day camp provides a wide variety of activities to meet the needs of every girl. These include swimming, boating, fishing, arts and crafts, nature and science, ice cream socials and talent shows. Younger girls participate in special activities each day while older girls choose from our special them adventures.

Camp Sobaco, our co-ed day camp is located on 34 wooded acres of Pine Barrens in Yaphank and serves children entering 1st through 6th grade. A typical day runs from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Before and after care is available at our Council Headquarters in Commack. Camp Sobaco offers a wide variety of activities such as swimming, arts and crafts, challenge course, and special theme activities.

Camp runs from June 27, 2005 - August 19, 2005.

Fees are as follows: $235 per week for Fan Club Members, $245 per week for Registered Girl Scouts, and $255 per week for those new to Girl Scouting. (There are early bird discouts and sibling discounts.) Partial financial assistance is available to those who qualify. Parents can also apply for a volunteer position at camp in exchange for their child's registration fee.

Price includes bus transportation from all over Suffolk County, lunch and snacks every day, a free t-shirt, mug, and a group picture!

Our camps operate in accordance with the high standards of Girl Scouts of the U.S.A., New York State health laws and country health regulations. Both camps are accredited by the American Camping Association. Inspection reports concerning our camps are on file at the health department. Our swimming program and all waterfront activities are run according to American Red Cross standards. A health supervisor is on duty at each camp.

Our camps are open to all. Children and staff of diverse racial, religious, national origins and socioeconomic backgrounds are welcome in our camps.
