1. Frost Valley YMCA - Our roots reach back to 1901, when we established one of the nation's first overnight camps for children. Over a century later, we remain true to the Y mission and our non-profit commitment to bring children of all backgrounds and abilities together in our enriching, life-changing community of summer camp.

On Summer days, Frost Valley campers live in a special world where they experience journeys on every scale - from spending their first night away from home and bonding with new friends to bolder quests like mountain hikes and all-camp traditions and games. Frost Valley YMCA offers non-competitive programs in a warm, nurturing and safe environment that models caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. We help children appreciate their own self-worth and the worth of others. Staff and campers create a supportive atmosphere which fosters life-long learning and memories that last a lifetime. Campers feel free to express and enjoy themselves without the social pressures of everyday life.

Frost Valley YMCA’s programs focus on building and maintaining healthy lifestyles and reflect the interests and needs of a dynamic community composed of an exciting mix of cultures, backgrounds, and abilities.

Our goal is to ensure successful camping and educational experiences for each child. Staff members travel from across the country and world to join Frost Valley’s team -- from California to Maine, England to New Zealand. Our staff to camper ratio is 1:4 and in-depth background and criminal history checks are diligently performed on all applicants. We believe that our counselors are what make Frost Valley’s summer camp meaningful, and many are former campers who know our camp culture and its traditions. Counselors undergo extensive training in our policies and procedures, which stress health and safety first in a fun environment.

Join us for an Open House February 26, March 25 or April 22.

Our trips are broken down into three categories.
Wilderness trips are designed for participants who are looking for a challenging, outdoor experience away from civilization and creature comforts. The group will be staying primarily in tents in primitive campsites, which means running water, showers and toilets are not available.Participants will have opportunities to take on leadership roles and learn back-country skills such as how to read a map and compass, knot tying and water purification techniques.

Multi-sport trips are designed for participants who are looking for a fun, outdoor experience. The group will be staying in tents in established campsites and campgrounds (unless otherwise noted) during their trip, where they will have access to showers, flushing toilets and running water. Participants will be responsible for camp chores (setting up tents, cooking, cleaning, etc) and most meals will be prepared by the group members on camping stoves. Trips destinations include Maine, West Virginia, Vermont, White Mountain and more!

Our Service Learning Adventures offer three trips partnered with Habitat for Humanity™ to build, landscape and create a home where a deserving family can start a new life. Gain the community service hours that many high school’s require for graduation, add to your college resume, and most importantly, make great friends and learn new skills while giving a part of yourself to service. (Must be 14 years or older to participate.)
