Red Oak, Red Barn and Chincapin Camps excel locally with their ability to offer a wide variety of exciting age-appropriate opportunities for boys and girls. All campers develop self-reliance and leadership skills, while investigating nature, and building new friendships. The camp boasts a newly completed climbing tower and zip line for developing advanced climbing skills, in addition to their challenging ropes course. Campers enjoy traditional camp activities, including archery, backpacking, canoeing, climbing, tennis, swimming, as well as the opportunity to develop interests in science and camp crafts under the guidance of our experienced staff. Chincapin campers enjoy advancing through their horseback riding program.

Red Oak, the overnight camp, starts with two, one-week residence camp sessions. These co-ed sessions are for campers ages 10 to 14 who would like to try a traditional overnight camp experience on a short-term basis. Each week will include a variety of camp activities, including swimming, tennis, hiking, archery, fishing, canoeing and field games. Campers will be challenged by our 21 element high ropes course and climbing tower, with a final ride down our 450 foot long zip line.

Red Oak Camp’s Legacy Session is a four to six-week camp that focuses on promoting responsibility, self-sufficiency, teamwork, and environmentally sound practices, all while engaging in fun, safe, and challenging camp activities. During this program, campers will spend four weeks in camp. At the end of four weeks, there is an additional two-week trip option available. Campers arrive Monday morning and return home on Friday for the weekend for the first four weeks. While at Red Oak, campers train rigorously in climbing, rappelling, canoeing, backpacking, and cooking in preparation for the two week Adventure Trip. Backpacking, canoeing or climbing are the annually rotated Adventure Trip themes which vary each year.

Red Barn is a day camp for boys ages 7-12. Each day the boys participate in fun but challenging outdoor activities, which include archery, canoeing, fishing, hiking, low ropes course, softball, swimming, outdoor science, crafts, wood crafting skills and more. Campers select from a wide menu of activities, and are encouraged to try all activities. Swimming lessons are mandatory.

Chincapin is a day for girls ages 8-12. The girls’ camp program includes the same challenges of climbing, rappelling, backpacking and canoeing activities as the young men’s’ programs, as well as archery, canoeing, fishing, hiking, low ropes course, softball, swimming, outdoor science, and crafts. Chincapin campers receive riding and horse care lessons 4 days a week. Chincapin's instruction focuses on safety, an appreciation of the sport, good riding form, and care for the animals.

Red Oak now also offers several other one week programs, including our Co-Ed Adventure Day Camp for boys and girls 7 to 12; the Chincapin Equestrian Extension Week, which features a week of riding lessons for girls 8 to 15; and our Girls Out of State Adventure Trip.
