You won't believe all the ways we can use air to send paper rockets of different styles flying high into the air or at a distant target. The truth is that without science, art would be very difficult or impossible! How does paint stick to a page? How is the page itself made? Learn how colors mix to create new colors, how chemicals and pigments create invisible images, how to create paintings that actually move, and much more.

Sculptures aren't just for museums and parks! Get ready to make three-dimensional artworks using different materials: from paper to glue and clay to bubbles. Investigate the art and science behind the making of kites, wind chimes and even candy! We will use physics and chemistry to create beautiful, noisy, and even delicious sculptures!

Everybody knows the stereotype but how does it feel to actually play the role of a 'mad scientist'? Together we'll push the limits of reality by experimenting with the ideas of mad scientists from literature and real life. Prepare to be sneaky, mysterious, magical, and to discover the gross and unexpected!

Be in the dark no more! Join us as we discover how light impacts the world around us. Playfully explore how light bends, bounces and moves through every day and not-so-everyday objects. We'll finally answer that age-old question: why is the grass green? See the world in a new and unusual light by capturing rainbows, making periscopes, dazzling mirror mazes, and more.

Blast Off! Bottles and Models
August 13th-17th, AM Sessions.
Thirsty for more rockets? This time, we're kicking off by making and launching our own soda bottle rockets! You'll get caught up in the competition but stand clear or you'll get drenched! Finally, you'll assemble and launch your own model electric-ignition rockets! Just make sure that you don't lose sight of them in the clouds...

Mystery of the Music
August 13th-17th, PM Sessions.
You won't believe your ears because we'll be making some noise! With sonic experiments and electrifying sound technology, we'll find out why sound is the rock star of energy. Hopefully you don't like to sit still because we will be buzzing, tuning, breezing, strumming, banging, blasting, croaking, chiming and more! Jam with the band as we make instruments out of ordinary objects.

3. Camp Invention - Lancaster, Pennsylvania - Take things apart, create inventions, design a magnet-powered city to scale and make a maglev train, use tools to take apart appliances, build wild new gadgets that morph into something else! Elementary STEM enrichment.

Inspire a passion for science in your child! New activities every year, over 40 locations and four different kinds of Camp Invention programs in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey.

Kids participate in each of these activities every day:

Magnetropolis – Design a magnet-powered city and build a maglev train.
Inventeureka - Join Team Inventeureka and mash up ideas to build wacky and humorous
widget inventions that morph into amazing, new prototypes!
I Can Invent: Balloon Burst - Work with real tools to take apart a small mechanical device, use the parts and other materials to build a Rube Goldberg machine!
Action and Adventure Games – Use upcycled materials and teamwork to create your own exciting new games!

Directed and taught by qualified local educators, Camp Invention is a national STEM enrichment program from the nonprofit Invent Now. Activities also focus on developing 21st Century learning skills such as teamwork, critical thinking skills, decision-making, creative problem-solving, and working through failure.

The oldest inland city in the United States of America, snuggled along the north and west by the mighty Susquehanna River, Lancaster College will host this summer's Contact Football Camp in Pennsylvania.

Darwin Breaux, one of the most successful coaches in Dickinson's long football history, returns in 2009 as camp director. Darwin recently completed his sixteenth season at the top of the Red Devils' football program. In 2007, Darwin led the Red Devils to a 9-2 overall record.

Overall in 16 seasons, Darwin has compiled an overall record of 102-61-1 (record for most wins in school history) and has led the Red Devils to the playoffs five times, including the 2007 ECAC Southeast Championships. Breaux joined the Dickinson football staff in 1989 as offensive coordinator and headed up the team's recruiting. Breaux took over as head coach before the start of the 1993 campaign and led the Red Devils to a berth in the ECAC Southwest Region Championship game. His 1994 team put together a school record 10-0 season and earned an NCAA Playoff appearance. For his efforts, he was named the AFCA South Region Coach of The Year. During his time at Dickinson, Breaux has coached 22 All-Americans.

Breaux joined the Dickinson football staff in 1989 as offensive coordinator. In addition to those duties, he headed up the team's recruiting. Breaux took over as head coach before the start of the 1993 campaign and led the Red Devils to a berth in the ECAC Southwest Region Championship game. Before coming to Dickinson, Breaux was an assistant football coach at Gettysburg College, as well as serving as the Bullets' head golf and wrestling coach. He also served as a graduate assistant at West Chester University, and coached at two high schools in his home state of Louisiana. A 1977 graduate of West Chester University, Breaux was a four-year member of the university's football squad and was a member of the golf team.
