1. Camp Invention - Yardley, Pennsylvania - Take things apart, create inventions, design a magnet-powered city to scale and make a maglev train, use tools to take apart appliances, build wild new gadgets that morph into something else! Elementary STEM enrichment.

Inspire a passion for science in your child! New activities every year, over 40 locations and four different kinds of Camp Invention programs in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey.

Kids participate in each of these activities every day:

June 18 - 21, 2012 Makefield Elementary ENCOUNTER 2 CURRICULUM

I Can Invent - Use real tools to take apart old appliances and see how they work, then create a model of your own invention. Older campers participate in a Rube Goldberg team challenge.
Fair Games –Learn about probability and other math concepts by building your own carnival games
The Lost Treasure – Overcome the challenges on a volcanic island to discover a hidden treasure
Action and Adventure Games – Use upcycled materials and teamwork to create your own exciting new games!

June 25 - 29, 2012 Edgewood Elementary ENVISION CURRICULUM

Magnetropolis – Design a magnet-powered city and build a maglev train.
Inventeureka - Join Team Inventeureka and mash up ideas to build wacky and humorous
widget inventions that morph into amazing, new prototypes!
I Can Invent: Balloon Burst - Work with real tools to take apart a small mechanical device, use the parts and other materials to build a Rube Goldberg machine!
Action and Adventure Games – Use upcycled materials and teamwork to create your own exciting new games!

Directed and taught by qualified local educators, Camp Invention is a national STEM enrichment program from the nonprofit Invent Now. Activities also focus on developing 21st Century learning skills such as teamwork, critical thinking skills, decision-making, creative problem-solving, and working through failure.
Dates:

BOTH CAMPS: Monday - Thursday, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
For children entering grades 2-6

Registration fee of $225 includes a camp T-shirt
