Ages 7-18, July 10-11 - The Steve Slaton Day Football Camp offers some of the best, most intense football training available with an outstanding high school coaching staff, including Houston Texan, Steve Slaton. Camp Features: Learn from outstanding high school coaches at a 10:1 player to coach ratio. This ratio ensures that campers receive individual and team instruction on both offense and defense at camp. Daily instruction, lectures, and demonstrations by Steve Slaton. Campers get the opportunity to learn the same offensive and defensive techniques that they are taught by coaches in the NFL. Players learn more than just football at camp. They are taught about teamwork, consideration of others, self-discipline, and how to attain their potential in sports and in life. Players also learn the importance of achieving good grades and selecting correct role models. While it’s a football camp not an “autograph camp” campers will have the opportunity to get autographs from the player headlining the camp. Each camp is the right size to allow players to be matched up properly at each age level. This allows not only for a proper match up but also for the campers to be challenged and provided a safe learning environment. Southwestern University is located in historic Georgetown, Texas just 30 minutes north of Austin, the state capital. Austin is known for its vibrant culture, live music, theatre, film, and art - an "intellectual capital" and one of the country's best places to live. We are excited to be hosting camp at Southwestern University for the second year. We hope you will join us.

We are excited to once again have Assistant Coach Jason Guthrie from Trinity University directing this summer's camp in Texas. Many programs around the nation would be envious of the Trinity University Tigers football team. Trinity has won 14 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference titles in the last 16 years. In addition, the Tigers have advanced to the NCAA Division III playoffs in 10 of the last 12 seasons. This past season, the Tigers finished the year at 8-2.

Coach Guthrie just completed his eighth year on the Tiger coaching staff, after seven years of coaching at the high school level in Tennessee. Guthrie spent three years as the offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach at Brentwood H.S.

At Brentwood, he helped the team to a 29-7 record, and helped the offense to an average of better than 30 points per game. The team also won the State Championship in his final year.
Guthrie holds a B.S. in history from Kentucky Wesleyan University, and a Masters from TU in Education Leadership. The Texas camp is known for its incredible staff of enthusiastic players, coaches and players who spend day and night with campers talking football, how it has affected their lives and what it can mean to each and ever player at camp. Lazy Acres is located on 20 beautifully shaded acres of fun! We are easily accessed from the NW Houston area, Tomball, The Woodlands, Cypress, Conroe. We give children a time to be remembered. The kids that have been here before say it's the best camp they have ever been to!
