Spring Summer Camps

Come "play" with us at kidsActing's award-winning summer camps. We've been named to the Hall of Fame for the Austin Chronicle's Reader's poll, having been voted Best Summer Camps seven times, and receiving that honor for the past five years in a row! At our camps we provide a supportive environment where kids can be creative, expressive and above all have fun. This summer for our full scale productions we offer B. Iden Payne award-winning, original musical Waking Sleeping Beauty and Shakespeare's classic comedy Much Ado About Nothing. On a smaller scale we offer an array of plays and musicals including: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe; Hairspray!; Lion King; Wicked and more! For a variety of activities your child can learn skills such as stage combat, accents, and screen-acting in our Acting classes. Or create a whole new world of magic in our new Wizardry classes where kids play Quidditch, become magical creatures, and make their own magical wand to keep! With diversity in classes at twelve locations in Austin and surrounding areas, there's bound to be a kidsActing class that's perfect for you. kidsActing has been Austin's premiere children's acting school for 30 years. Our students have moved on to study at Julliard and perform on Broadway, but it all started with fun at kidsActing. As one of our parent's has said "Where do you begin when your child has a dream? You begin here - kidsActing."

More than just an ordinary summer camp, Camp Eagle is nestled in a beautiful and rugged environment that is perfect for every kind of outdoor adventure and extreme sport. While beauty and adventure draw many to camp, it's our "extreme" Bible-based curriculum and relationships that leave a lasting impact. At Camp Eagle, we tackle tough issues head on and with a staff of devoted and inspired believers and provide the moral and physical infrastructure needed to engage unforgettable life-changing experiences.

Spanish Camp for Kids!

5 sessions available: June 6th-17th, June 20th-1st, July 5th-15th, July 18th-29th, and/or August 1st-12th.

Camp Themes: El Verano, El Carnaval, Safari Adventure, Globetrotter's Adventure, and Circus!

Children are divided by language ability and age. Open to 18 mo.-12 year olds. Average of 8 students per teacher. We only hire the best-native Spanish speakers with teaching experience! From the moment your child walks into our doors, Spanish will be the mode of communication. Trust us! Your kids will have fun this summer.

SESSION 1: EL VERANO – The Summer

Hot, fun, and sun are just a few words that the kids will learn in Spanish about the summer! Grab your shades, towel, and bathing suit and experience summertime in Spanish!

SESSION 2: EL CARNAVAL

Come and experience firsthand El Carnaval! You will learn when and where El Carnaval is celebrated in Latin America. As well, creating wild masks, instruments, participate and your own CARNIVAL PARADE and throw in some basic Salsa rhythm steps!

SESSION 3: SAFARI ADVENTURE

Get ready for a summer journey off the beaten path as your child transforms into a safari explorer. This session will have kids take part in hands-on activities and role-playing. They'll learn to describe and talk about savannahs, wild animals, people, art, music, and traditions. They will create wild animal masks. Moreover, students will get a chance to bring their new costume while they participate in a scavenger hunt.

SESSION 4: GLOBETROTTER'S ADVENTURE

Students participate in activities that relate to the world around them and beyond. Kids will have a fun time learning vocabulary related to their environment, transportation, people and places. They'll have the opportunity to be explorers and discover cultures from around the world.

SESSION 5: CIRCUS

"Ladies and Gentleman, children of all ages ... Welcome to our Spanish Circus Caravan blast off!" Experience the circus through the eyes of a child in Spanish! Children will learn words that relate to the circus as well as create arts and crafts that will reinforce the theme.

Nestled into 50 acres in Spring, TX, YMCA Camp Pine Tree is only 30 minutes away from anywhere in the Houston area. This great location helps our campers and parents feel very safe. We offer the most traditional activities in a non-competitive environment so that our campers get a well-rounded view of camping in general.

Parents and family members play a big part on opening day as they move the camper into the cabin, meet the counselors, make the bed and then have lunch together. Then before everyone leaves, we introduce all of the staff members and sing some silly camp songs together. It's our way of breaking the ice, getting the campers comfortable and easing any of the family's worries.

Our cabins contain bunkbeds, showers, sinks, toilets and central air and heat.

Our senior counselors must have completed their freshman year of college, pass a drug test, criminal background check, three personal reference checks and an intense interview process.

Our camp is only Sunday afternoon through Friday morning...specifically designed to allow the appropriate time for beginners. On closing day, the family is invited to come watch our award ceremony at 9:30. Every camper receives a reward. We hope to see you there.

New mini-camp sessions invite 5-yr olds to our last sessions. Four total mini-camp sessions are now available for a 3-night stay as opposed to the regular 5-night sessions.
