Located high atop the Blue Ridge Mountains of northwest North Carolina, YMCA Camp Cheerio is the ideal place for persons of all ages to enjoy a camping or retreat experience. Camp Cheerio offers many challenging programs, from summer resident (sleepover) and coed adventure camps. With over 20 activities to choose from there is something for everyone.
Founded in 1960 by the YMCA of High Point, North Carolina, Camp Cheerio seeks to provide campers with a sustained, creative, and educational experience in the out-of-doors. Through the use of natural surroundings, and under the Christian guidance of trained leadership, YMCA camping seeks to help campers achieve their fullest potential in terms of mental development, physical well-being, social growth, and spiritual awareness.

MSC offers a variety of Summer Camps, Family Camps and Courses that give all campers a hands-on, feet wet experience.

Summer Camp-Campers explore coastal habitats, interact with marine and terrestrial creatures and spend the evenings enjoying traditional summer
camp activities. Experienced Marine Science Educators lead daytime field trips and activities, while resident chaperons live in the dormitory facility with campers and supervise them during non-class time.

Join us for an Adventure Camp experience like no other! Cheerio Adventures specializes in camp sessions from 3 days up to 14 days of unforgettable adventures. We are a Christian based adventure camp located in the mountains of SW Virginia along the New River. The camp is for boys and girls ages 10-17. All groups consist of 8-12 participants, to maximize the adventure experience and promote strong and long lasting friendships. Our focus on helping young people learn more about themselves, strengthen self-confidence, leadership, teamwork skills, is accomplished while challenging them in a safe and fun Christian setting. All equipment is provided.
Trips take place in NC, TN, VA and WV. Activities include rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking, whitewater rafting, backpacking, caving, mountain biking, sailing, wind surfing and more.

Passages one-week day camp sessions, held on Belle Isle near downtown Richmond, help your child build confidence,self-esteem and leadership skills in a fun and challenging environment. The week is packed with fun and adventure and is only minutes from the city's skyscrapers. One week sessions of Passages include kayaking, rock climbing, rappelling, the 350-foot zip-line, and a five mile river trip.

Every day includes time for swimming, lunch, and snacks, so all a camper needs to bring is a water bottle. Our camp guarantees a four to one camper to counselor ratio which allows us to cater to campers of any skill level. Our counselors are highly respected members of the outdoor community who love sharing their expertise and appreciation of the outdoors with young people.

"Base Camp" for 5-7 year old boys and girls, offers 1/2 day and full day sessions at Peak Experiences Indoor Rock Climbing Center in Midlothian. Includes rock climbing, swimming, games, lunch, snacks, and drinks.

Christchurch School offers fun, engaging, and enriching programs that cultivate physical, emotional, and spiritual growth of our campers.

With three fun filled weeks, campers will discover what is in and around the water that surrounds the campus. Perched atop a hill, in historic Middlesex County, overlooking the majestic waters of the Rappahannock River, Christchurch School has been helping youth begin their journey for the past 90 years.

Your camper will live in an air conditioned dormitory room supervised by our highly trained staff. Each hall will house 20 campers (double room occupancy) and at least 3 counselors, with an overall staff to camper ratio of 1 to 4. You can be assured your camper's physical and emotional safety is our top priority.

During the day, your camper will enjoy their chosen discipline of sailing, marine science, or fishing with other campers who have chosen the same activity. In the evening, campers will enjoy traditional camp activities like camp fires, field games, talent shows, or the end of the week dance.

Summer Camps on the River prides itself on helping campers connect with the community around them. Every day campers will grow in independence and better understanding of the role they play in the camp community. This is done through hands-on interactions with coaches, teachers, counselors, and other campers. Campers discover the world around them and the impact they have on that community, through a greater understanding of environmental impacts and character development.

And now, there is a summer camp designed for High school age students. We are located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia USA, just 2 hours west of Washington, DC and just a few miles outside the city of Harrisonburg, VA. These three-week long camps will be focused on four main areas, which mirror those of Up with People: Performing Arts – Leadership – Service – Culture

The first camps will take place this summer:
July 3 - July 23
July 24 - August 13

There will be typical camp activities, including swimming, horseback riding, campfires and MORE! Also, some “X-TREME” activities like, zip-line, rock climbing and high/low ropes courses (these are optional). They will visit Washington, DC and be involved with community service projects in the Harrisonburg area. At the end of the three weeks, the campers will put on a performance, showcasing your talents, cultures and hopes for the world that reflects the Up with People spirit.

Also, as an extra incentive, for any Camp UWP attendee who later applies and is accepted to travel in the Up with People program, UWP will award a $1,000US Camp UWP Participant Scholarship toward their UWP program fee! Kids learn about language, history, art, math and science as they crack clever codes and master amazing gadgets. Chaperoned teams explore the secure campus of Maymont Gardens to find hidden treasure! We offer three week-long sessions: July 18-22, July 25-29 and August 1-5. Adventure Links has designed an active, engaging series of adventure activities that immerse your child in their camp experience. For Day Camp, arrive at camp each day for a new adventure including Team Challenge Course, Rock Climbing, Caving, Kayaking/Canoeing, Sailing, Mountain Biking, Outdoor Living Skills and Environmental Education. Or travel away from home for 1 or 2 weeks on an expedition to Hike, Kayak, Rock Climb, White Water Raft, Mountain Bike, and Canoe. Come explore as close as the Chesapeake and Blue Ridge Mountains.

Our goal for our programs is simple: to provide an environment where your child is content and able to immerse him/herself into the adventure experience. The outcomes achieved are numerous and may include:

Building of confidence and self reliance
Skills Development
Friendships and community building
Willingness to push personal limits

The Ryoshin-Kan Karate Summer Day Camp will be conducted June to September 2012. The Karate Camp includes Martial Arts Training, Games, Movies, Talent Show Contest, Demos, Contest, Awards and fun….. This Day Camp will be conducted at the Ryoshin-Kan Karate School in Virginia Beach, Virginia. "Home of the World & National Karate Demo Team Champions"
We will also have field trips and movie trips.
Anyone can attend so bring a friend and participate.
Day Camp Fee and All Donations will be use to support the Ryoshin-Kan Karate School and the Dragon Force National Karate Demo Team.

WAEL celebrates 23 years of unique summer adventure camps that take your children on a journey through the National Forests of VA & WV. We are not a traditional summer camp; we are an all-outdoor, tent camping & backpacking program offering 7 day, 14 day, & 28 day trips for ages 8 to 17 with a focus on developing skills in a multitude of adventure activities. Are trips are designed so that everyone is challenged at their own level, ALL CHILDREN CAN SUCCESSFULLY ACCOMPLISH OUR TRIPS and leave feeling more confident and proud of their success.

Whether your child is new to adventure camps (or camp in general) or has lots of experience in the outdoors we have an appropriate summer adventure for them. We provide all of the necessary equipment (backpacks, sleeping bags, etc.) for your summer adventure camp experience.

Adventure Camp activities include: rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking, rappelling, caving, ropes course, climbing wall, 900' zip line, whitewater rafting, sea kayaking, environmental education, and many more outdoor adventure activities.

Camp Roanoke is nestled within 700 acres of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. We offer a full season of residential and day camps for youth, including traditional and adventure programs. Activities include canoeing, arts & crafts, archery, nature programs, rock climbing, kayaking, caving, and much more. Camp Roanoke is a American Camp Association accredited program.

We know the value of a smile at the end of the day. It’s a small reminder of why we teach kids climbing. It’s because learning to climb is fun, and because it encourages learning general life skills that can be applied every day. Our climbing camp doesn’t set out to make kids all-star rock climbers but rather, through climbing, helps kids find ways to...

Rise Up’s five-day camp introduces children to rock climbing, both indoors and out. The camp takes place at our indoor facility where we spend four of the five camp days. The gym allows us to control the climate and the climbing thereby enhancing the learning atmosphere and ensuring that each child receives all the attention, guidance, and instruction they need.

On the fifth day the camp moves outdoors. The outdoor class is a day of fun and adventure as our instructors guide the kids on and around real rock. In addition to learning to climb on a real rock surface campers are taught a bit of geology and preservation of outdoor resources for future generations.

A brief look at the week’s exciting activities for campers:

Identify each child’s needs and goals
Participate in group team-building games to encourage trust
Instruction in the basic skills of top roping
How to contact, the climbing surface
Learn movement skills used for climbing
Gain basic knowledge of geology
