Since 1979 Camp Woodbrooke has been helping children experience a life style that is simple, cooperative, full of creative exploration, joy and lasting friendships. We provide a camp environment free from the pressures of the outside world. We invite children to explore and be daring within a supportive group atmosphere. Woodbrooke is a small, caring camp -- we accommodate no more than 30 campers in our residential program (7-12 yrs). With our Quaker leadership, each person is valued for his/her unique worth. While maintaining a small camp is a priority, we also actively seek to have a diverse community, feeling that many children grow up getting few opportunities to know children from different backgrounds. It is good to learn we are all interesting, valuable people! Campers choose their daily activities. Each camper can develop physical skills such as canoeing, archery, nature, crafts, baking, pottery, woodworking or camp craft, and life skills such as personal care, basic first aid, being responsible for your own actions, making independent decisions or working cooperatively in a group decision-making process. We also offer teen adventures (ages 13-15). ACA accredited. For more information please check out our website. | |
