Would you like to be an Activity Specialist at camp without sharing a cabin with kids this summer? You still have the same fine contact with adults and children, and a strong influence on their lives. You teach activities to both children and adults. Adults turn out to be just "Big Kids" - as excited to learn as their kids.

At Montecito we also have as a goal to "help families build family unity". Parents can either go to activities with their children or go off "on their own", but they always spend some activity time, meals and evenings together as a family. You can do a lot to help families "play together". We have been called a "Haven for mothers" of younger children, and "a must" for older kids, who look forward to becoming CITs at 13. Our Program offers activities for all ages - "Tots to Seniors".

The "Free Choice" program offers over 30 activities for persons ages 2 to 85 - "Tots to Seniors".

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS -
Enthusiastic, energetic and competent instructors in any area usually make the best instructors. With these qualifications you will interest both Kids and Adults in your activity as you follow teaching progressions and safety standards. You will also experience the joy of accomplishment, and feel that you “have made a difference”. Waterfront staff need Lifeguard certification. All staff live-in and have shared housing. We will provide you with former staff to call as "references on us" at your request. Interest in Special Events, Guitar, Theater Arts, Comedy, and singing are talents we welcome!

SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary depends on previous teaching, work experience, age, and weeks employed. Compensation includes Salary, Rm & Bd, Gratuities, delicious "CA Fresh" buffet meals and lovely High Sierra climate! Total cash compensation starts at $200-$280 per week, plus average of $100 Gratuities per week, and goes up depending on position and past experience. Staff live in winterized cabins with other staff, and use a nearby bath house with plenty of hot water. Each cabin houses six staff. We also welcome staff who might be interested in staying year round as we offer programs for families and a “Fitness SPA Package” year around. You’ll be amazed.
