Camp Kiwago

Kiwago is a non-profit residential summer camp program for children living in NYC homeless shelters. It is located in Harriman State Park, about one hour north of NY City. The program runs for nine weeks, including one week of staff training and orientation. Staff must commit to work from the third week of June to the third week of August (Maintenance and supervisors arrive earlier in June).

New applicants must be over 18 with at least one year of college or work experience. Successful applicants are patient, dedicated, flexible, team-oriented, and highly creative. Many of our campers have experienced a recent trauma or have taken on adult responsibilities at a young age; this can result in various behavior challenges at camp. Working at Lanowa is a tough job, but it can be tremendously rewarding.

We are only accepting applications from American citizens or residents and Canadians at this time.
