Camp Dean is a great summer setting where girls get to enjoy camp spirit, camp fun and camp friendships. Camp Dean is looking for female staff, age 18 and up to lead and share their enthusiasm for fun and adventures. If you love spending your time outdoors, have experience working with children and have the willingness to work hard and work as a team member, then be a part of Camp Dean!!!

Camp Dean is owned and operated by the Girl Scouts—Fox Valley Council. The winter office of Camp Dean is located in Sugar Grove, IL while the actual camp property and program is located in Big Rock, IL. Camp Dean is 160 acres of natural woodlands, wetlands, and forests for campers and staff to explore. Campers sleep in platform tents or cabins. Staff will sleep in “staff only” designated cabins and tents near campers. Programs are conducted in our program buildings or through out camp in our pool, private lake, creek, fields, and trails.

Camp Dean serves girls and young women in grades 1-12. Camp sessions vary from overnight sessions of 3, 5 or 12 days. Camp Dean staff act as role models and mentors to the girls and help guide them daily life at camp from meals, kapers, activity programs, all-camp events and much more. Programs areas include art, aquatics, kayaking, trips, canoeing, drama, horseback riding (Western), dance, sports, nature, team challenges, archery, leadership, and more!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: I'm not a Girl Scout, was never a Girl Scout or was only a Girl Scout when I was young. Can I still work at Camp Dean?
A: ABSOLUTELY! Many of the camp staff come to Camp Dean without any background in Girl Scouting. Camp Dean appreciates that each person comes with a unique background that adds a richness to the Camp Dean program, which may or may not have included Girl Scouting!

Q: What's included when you work at camp? Food? Laundry?
A: Camp staff live and work at camp and will live in either a platform tent or cabin. Meals are served (while campers are present) family style in the dining hall. Special Diets are accommodated. Washer and Dryer is available for staff use.
