Gold Arrow Camp is located on Huntington Lake in California's beautiful Sierra National Forest. Since 1933, boys and girls ages 6 to 14 have enjoyed a fun, traditional camp program which promotes building friendships and social skills. Gold Arrow Camp offers children a community where caring, warmth, and enthusiasm are shared by all, and where a sense of family develops both within each cabin group and amongst the camp as a whole. Children are able to live in and experience the outdoors in a spectacular setting right on a lake in the heart of a National Forest. More than 20 outdoor, recreational activities are offered, including: water-skiing, wave-running, sailing, rock climbing, horseback riding, fishing, archery, backpacking, ropes course, arts and crafts, ceramics, riflery, canoeing, kayaking, and more! At evening campfires, campers sing songs, talk about their day, and build friendships that last a lifetime. Campers attend 2, 3, and 4 week sessions, which are offered throughout the summer. A special one week program is offered for first time campers ages 6 & 7.
We are recruiting counselors with the following skills: group counseling, water-skiing, wake-boarding, sailing, rockclimbing, horseback riding, fishing, archery, backpacking, ropes course, arts and crafts, ceramics, riflery, canoeing, kayaking, and wave-running. We look for caring, enthusiastic, and responsible people who work well in a structured environment and desire to be a positive model for children.
Staff must be at least age 19 and have completed at least one year of college or work experience. The dates of employment for our 2010 summer are June 19 to August 21.
