Camp Skylemar has provided outstanding instruction, within a warm, nurturing, friendly and family atmosphere, for over 61 years.

Behind every activity at Skylemar, is a focus on what matters more than just particpating: sportsmanship, teamwork, understanding, compassion, and kindness.

Children experience individualized attention, and superior instruction in sports such as lacrosse, soccer, basketball, baseball, tennis, golf, hockey, archery, ropes course, football, ultimate frisbee, volleyball, frisbee golf, running, softball, swimming, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing, water-skiing and wakeboarding.

Other popular activities include drama, radio broadcasting, video, bocce, steal the bacon, music (piano, guitar, etc.)photography,newspaper, weight training, outdoor/wilderness education, mad science, campcraft, fishing,geo-caching hiking, arts, crafts and woodworking.

Staff are also involved with many special events, day and overnight trips. In addition to providing instructional leadership in one or more activities throughout the day, a counselor serves as “big brother/sister”, friend, role-model, advisor and “hero”.

Most Skylemar counselors live with a group of 6 to 8 boys and another counselor. We have seperate on campus housing for female counselors and senior(professional) staff members.

While most staff members are specialists in one or more activities, all staff members are chosen on the basis of our learning that they enjoy a wholesome, sincere interest in working with young people. Applicants must be 18 and have completed at least one year of college.

In addition to your salary, we cover housing, meals and transportation expenses. Internet access, staff shirts and a laundry service are also provided.

Positions run from June 20 to August 14.
