A.B.Shepard said Space Camp Canada was the nicest Space Camp in the world. Funded by the Gvt and private industry it cost $30million. We are housed in the Cosmodome bldg that comprises a 2500sq.m. space science center, Space Camp, lodging for 268 campers in space pods modelled on the ISS,cafeteria, boutique, etc.
Kids 9 to 15 who have experienced Space Camp develop a higher interest in maths and science: their school results significantly improve.Campers use simulators, prepare for and do a space mission
on a full size replica of Endeavour: they experience space desorientation,exercise their memory,concentration and coordination, they discover how the body adapts to new environments.
The program is structured around experimentation and scientific workshops. Kids develop pride,autonomy and a huge sense of self-fulfillment. The Space Camp program is also one certain way begin looking up at the sky and at scientific accomplisments with a new sense of curiosity and eagerness to learn, to open the books, to study...
