SUMMER PROGRAMS
Basic Cadet Training
(Fort A. P. Hill, VA)
6-27 Jul 08
This three-week adventure is often known as "Boot Camp." Basic Cadet Training is physically and mentally demanding, with heavy emphasis on personal accountability and teamwork. Each Cadet Recruit is assigned to a platoon of 18-25 Recruits lead by a Cadet Troop Handler and trained by a qualified Drill Instructor. Cadets will learn military drill and ceremonies and be challenged like never before! Upon completion of Recruit Training, you will earn the title "Army Cadet," and will have earned the privilege of wearing the Army Combat Uniform at a formal graduation. Newly recruited ACA Army Cadets participate in BCT during their first summer. A Recruit who does not have a burning desire to graduate will not make it through the program.

To graduate from RCCI, the recruit must pass the General Military Subjects Test (GMST) for the grade they are eligible for and the Physical Readiness Test/Physical Fitness Test for the grade they are eligible for. Graduates of RCCI, who meet all appointment criteria, will normally graduate at the grade permitted by ACA regulations. Each graduating RCCI Cadet will be reviewed for initial appointment based on motivation, leadership, physical fitness and other factors. Graduates of RCCI will transition to BLC during AT-2008. Failure to pass all criteria for graduation from RCCI will result in transition from RCCI to BCT during AT-2008 and ineligibility for advanced initial appointment.
