Mark Richman is an extremely successfully teacher in the tough NYC public school system. Lecturing both locally and nationally on his classroom management techniques, he has coached thousands of successful teachers. His camping success has been equally documented. As far as his teaching career:

Mark Richman has been teaching for over 23 years - all in the New York City Public Schools. He worked 18 of those years on the middle school level at JHS 43 in Brooklyn, where he served as a math teacher and as Dean of Discipline. He has now been teaching for 5 years at Abraham Lincoln H.S. in Brooklyn, where he teaches both calculus and fundamentals of math. He also serves as his schools' union leader. Mr. Richman has lectured on "classroom management and motivation" extensively, both nationally for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and locally for the NYC Public Schools. He is the author of two books: "Just Let Me Survive Today (A Primer in Classroom Management and Motivation), and "High Caliber Kids" (A Book Of Interdisciplinary Values Education).
