With a beautiful oceanfront setting, the Academy by the Sea/Camp Pacific has the perfect location for an exciting and educational fun-filled summer! The Academy by the Sea offers educational programs with a focus on college preparatory and interdisciplinary studies; while Camp Pacific offers programs with a focus on teamwork, athletic and recreation skills, and building self-confidence. At Camp Pacific, our popular Recreation Camp and Surf Camp sessions are filled with exciting day activities such as: tennis, surfing, soccer, arts and crafts, riflery, basketball, water polo, snorkeling, guitar, weight training, surf, bodyboarding, and many more activities that have made our camp a huge success! In the evenings enjoy warm camp fires, movie nights, and more! Sea World, Magic Mountain, and Knott’s Berry Farm are only a few of the places you will visit on the weekends! Ages 8-17
The Academy by the Sea provides a unique boarding school learning environment that offers enrichment and credit courses. Our academic programs are structured and follow a disciplined schedule, yet they are enriching and full of recreational activities once class time is over.
We keep our class sizes small so that we may provide each student with the individual teacher attention they need (1:10 teacher to student ratio). Students receive class instruction in the mornings, and participate in recreational activities during the afternoons (so long as all class work has been completed). On the weekends Sea World, Magic Mountain, and Knott’s Berry Farm are only a few of the places they will enjoy.
Some of our enrichment courses are Media Production, Computer Journalism, ESL, Math, Oceanography, and Guitar. History, Math, and English are only a few of the subject we offer for credit (remediation only). For a complete list of course please visit our website. The credit program includes a proctored evening study hall is held Monday-Friday so that students will learn and develop study and time-management skills.
