Austin Girls’ Choir is a top-level performing choir well known throughout the US and Europe for its high standards and level of excellence. The organization serves girls age 8-18 from Austin and surrounding communities. Many enter as beginners, but rapidly learn to sing in three- and four-part harmony. They share a strong love for music and music-making, and delight in challenging repertoire ranging from jazz, swing and folksongs to madrigals and classical works. Founded in 1990 by Artistic Director Sara Burden-McClure, the group tours widely, from small local venues to European cathedrals to Carnegie Hall and the White House.
The Choir meets year-round (with minimal schedule in July), auditioning incoming girls three times per year. Please contact us for further info!
