It's time to begin encouraging youth to have fun this summer exploring a career field alongside faculty at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln!
Several academic departments across campus are teaming up with University of Nebraska 4-H to host a series of career exploration camps open to all senior high youth.
"These three-to-five day camps are designed to provide students with an introduction to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) as well as exposure to a future career field," explains Dr. Kathleen Lodl, 4-H youth development specialist.
Camp participants will have the opportunity to explore UNL and campus life, develop friendships with peers who have similar interests, interact with faculty members, and have fun!
The 2010 camps are scheduled during June. Youth can choose from topics such as biological science, companion animals, culinary arts and food science, fashion design, filmmaking, natural resources, unicameral youth legislature, veterinary science, and 3D animation and virtual world creation! Each camp will have a culminating event to allow campers to demonstrate their new knowledge and skills to parents and others.
Encourage the young people in your life to explore a career and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus this summer at the Nebraska 4-H Big Red Summer Camps!
For more information about dates and 2010 opportunities, call the Nebraska State 4-H Office at (402) 472-2805.
