More About Camp
The Byrnes Health Education Center strives to make learning fun. Participation in a Byrnes HEC program is sure to be an exciting, memorable experience, even over the summer months. The Byrnes HEC offers three unique educational summer camps offered to groups for half day adventures that will instill an appreciation for the incredible human body and inspire healthy lifestyle decisions. These camps are available for day camps to schedule and we will come directly to your site and present to your campers.
"Safety Town"
This week-long program, offered for students ages 4-7, explores many different ways to stay safe and enjoy the world. From fire safety to police safety to animal and water safety, all topics are geared to the younger learner in a 3 hour/day format.
"Activenture"
The Byrnes HEC’s newest summer camp is for students who have completed grades 3, 4, and 5. Activenture is a fantastic adventure with FUN, FOOD, and FITNESS! Students will explore how the human body uses food to fuel fun fitness activities. They will learn how to create flavorful, healthy foods.
"Body Works Camp"
During the half-day camp, students who have completed grades 2, 3, and 4 will study the body through a variety of activities and interactive learning. The day is an in-depth exploration of a different body system and health topic.
"Whodunit?"
The Byrnes HEC’s forensic science camp, Whodunnit?, is for students who have completed grades 4, 5, and 6. During this half-day camp, students will solve a new mystery. They will learn about the many systems of the body when they become detectives. Mapping out a crime scene, gathering evidence, analizing it in the lab, and even interviewing suspects is all part of a day’s work!
"Whodunit?" - same as above only this is a week-long camp, offered July 27-31, 9:00-4:00.
BodyWorks - same as above only this is a week-long camp, offered August 10-14, 9:00-4:00
