Surrounded by the spectacular Chisos Mountains, bordered by the majestic Rio Grande, and sprinkled with Chihuahuan Desert mesas, Lajitas has charmed and captivated its guests for hundreds of years. Amid the timeless echoes of the Old West, Lajitas Resort & Spa, a luxury resort has been developed and has opened up this majestic land to guests from literally the world over.
As parents, aunts, uncles and former campers ourselves, the staff of Lajitas decided to open Camp Lajitas at Lajitas Resort & Spa beginning in the Summer of 2009. Our mission, quite simple, operate a fun filled, safe, educational and challenging summer camp to a limited number of campers both from anywhere in the world, aged 8-16, for two week sessions beginning in June 2009. We decided to limit the age of campers we are accepting for each session so that Camp Lajitas campers can participate in age-appropriate activities and programs with the best opportunity to really enjoy a true Camp Lajitas, Big Bend experience.
