Classy Kids Cook is the perfect place to start your child off on a kitchen adventure that will build the foundations of their life skills. Learning how to cook isn’t just a tasty skill, it also helps develop creativity, academic skills and teamwork. Who knows your kid might be the next Rachel Ray or Bobby Flay just waiting to be discovered!
Classy Kids Cook is the only cooking school in the DC area dedicated to just kids. They offer your child a creative environment with personal attention that will help their creativity rise like a soufflé.
OUR APPROACH:
Through hands-on classes, we empower students to master exciting recipes as they experience new foods and utilize mathematics, geography and science in real-world applications. We have a passion for teaching youth to enjoy the multi-faceted celebration of food. A low 6-to-1 student-teacher ratio ensures students work in small groups and get individual attention. The highlight of this comprehensive week is our Thursday Graduation Dinner when students present their accomplishments to their own guests by preparing and serving a beautiful buffet.
Did you know through the process of cooking we hone our skills in reading, math, science, problem solving, socialization, negotiation, task completion, and presentation? The kitchen is an excellent connection point for people to have great conversation, work together, and learn about each other while accomplishing a common goal.
How exciting to know that learning to cook and working together in the kitchen contributes to the development of so many essential life skills!
OUR CAMP ADVENTURE THEMES:
Cooking Fundamentals
Baking & Pastry Arts
Healthy Meal Choices
Culinary camp is five fun-filled days for children ages 7 - 18. During this hands-on week we will explore various cooking techniques, play games, and learn etiquette and (if time permits) take a field trip. We also enjoy having a cook-off contest where each child creates at home a special recipe that they bring in, share & compete for prizes. The grand finale of the week is our Iron Chef Competition on Friday, were two teams compete to see who will rein supreme (just like on TV). And the great part is that you the parents get to be the judges of all the wonderfully delicious creations.
