Weekly themes include Endangered Species, Reptiles, Insects, Plants & Gardening, Snakes, Wetlands & Ponds, Birds, Native Americans, and Mammals.
Cochran Mill Nature Center also offers a Kindergarten Camp for 4 and 5 year-olds who will be entering kindergarten this fall. PK campers will learn about reptiles, birds, insects, native wildlife of Georgia, gardening, and more! We’ll hike, fish, canoe and have loads of fun!
Campers who have completed 5th through 8th grade and outgrown our Nature Day Camp can participate in an exciting Teen Adventure Camp program. Each day campers will leave Cochran Mill Nature Center for wilderness outings including hiking, orienteering, canoeing, and wildlife studies. On Thursday night, there will be a camp-out in the nature center field, including a campfire, cookout, and night hike!
Cochran Mill Nature Center is located just 20 minutes south of Atlanta in Palmetto, Georgia. The center's log structure is located by a pond on fifty privately-owned, heavily-wooded acres.
