More About Camp

San Marcos Baptist Academy is located in central Texas just about half-way between Austin and San Antonio on IH35. The campus is just northeast of San Marcos on Ranch Road 12. We are excited to be able to bring you our new camp location at one of our most popular camps to Texas. We hope you will join us.

We are excited to once again have Assistant Coach Jason Guthrie from Trinity University directing this summer's camp in Texas. Many programs around the nation would be envious of the Trinity University Tigers football team. Trinity has won 13 of the past 14 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference titles. In addition, the Tigers have advanced to the NCAA Division III playoffs in 9 of the last 10 seasons. This past season, the Tigers finished the season at 8-2 and in second place in the SCAC.

In 2005, the Tigers, who went 9-2 overall, won the SCAC crown with a 6-0 record. Trinity lost 32-13 to eventual Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl finalist Mary Hardin-Baylor in the opening round of the NCAA playoffs.

Coach Guthrie just completed his fourth year on the Tiger coaching staff, after seven years of coaching at the high school level in Tennessee. Guthrie spent three years as the offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach at Brentwood H.S.

At Brentwood, he helped the team to a 29-7 record, and helped the offense to an average of better than 30 points per game. The team also won the State Championship in his final year.
