FivePoints, Union College’s premier summer academic program, resides in the picturesque city of Schenectady, the heart of beautiful upstate New York. Derived from a Mohawk Indian word for "across the pine plains” this historic city is forty miles west of the beautiful Adirondack mountains, only a few hours from New York City and the home of Union College and its surrounding communities. With complete access to Union College’s world-class facilities, FivePoints students live on a historic campus in the newly renovated College Park Hall. Each student can look forward to an exciting New York City Adventure as well as unique and educational field trips to a wide variety of exciting local attractions. The College's 100-acre campus includes eight acres of formal gardens and woodland known as Jackson's Garden.

Students from around the country will make the most of their summer vacation by living, laughing and learning in one of America’s best colleges. Experiencing life on a college campus and academic immersion in one chosen field of study are the central pillars of the FivePoints program. Our program is academically stimulating and socially enriching. Academics are extremely important, but FivePoints is first and foremost a summer program. Our staff spends the entire winter preparing and organizing for each summer. The goal is to fill every day and dedicated free time with fun activities designed to bring our students together and make the most of our vast campus resources.
