Two-week (daytime) film theory & production workshop designed to provide teens the technical and creative tools to produce their own short-subject videos.
This two-week (daytime) production workshop is designed to provide teens both the technical and creative tools to produce their own short-subject videos.
Following initial discussions on film history and theory, students are formed into production teams and produce all aspects of films they conceive – from storyboarding and filming to editing and music composition. (Don’t worry, we realize that all work and no play makes Fred very dull and uncreative – and recreation is a part of every day. After all even the most dedicated filmmaker needs to recharge from time to time with some Ultimate Frisbee, a soccer game or a cool swim on a hot day.)
At the end of the workshop, students present their films at a screening/reception at our "Green Carpet Premiere" at the Hamilton-Wenham Community House. From there selected films broadcast on local cable and submitted to a variety of film festivals. A limited number of out-of-town students can be accommodated through host family housing arranged by Fred. Fred is a project of the Denver-based Educational Media Organization and Patton Productions LLC in New York City.
