As the only undergraduate Ivy League nursing school, Penn is recognized worldwide for setting the standard of academic excellence in this field.
Working with Penn faculty and classmates from around the world, students will enjoy an innovative classroom curriculum that covers health-care topics such as current epidemics, genetics, bioethics and emergency nursing.
Students will then shadow real nurses and observe health care being practiced on every floor and in every department. From the Emergency Room to the NICU and the operating theater, students will gain clinical experience in some of Philadelphia's finest hospitals, including the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Medical science is at the heart of the Penn Nursing Summer Institute curriculum, a selection of regular Penn courses sequenced and paced for the age and experience of the student body. The program uses state-of-the-art classrooms, advanced simulation laboratories, and intelligently designed space where students can connect, engage and exchange.
