Welcome to the Kidsnetsoft Tech Camp, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This camp is new this summer. This day camp was inspired by a fabulous experience I had in New York City. I worked for Media Workshop, a non-profit organization that provided tech support to teachers in the public schools. During my employment with this organization, my co-workers and I traveled to different boroughs with middle school aged children to gather information from museums, exhibits, restaurants and other attractions in order to create websites based around their experiences. The photos and information they gathered were used to create these websites. The students were motivated and excited to participate in this unique experience. Consequently, I would like to replicate some of the general practices of this experience. Children that participate in this camp will gain historical information about Colorado. They will learn about software applications and design. Their websites will include audio clips and video to complement their pages. As a computer teacher, my expertise is in web design. I have passion and knowledge about this topic and would like to give campers an opportunity to experience the excitement of web development.
