More About Camp
Med-O-Lark excels in the visual and performing arts, and offers the most extensive crafts, dance and theater courses of any youth camp in New England. Professional artists and performers commute to camp or live at camp to augment our teaching staff. All of our counselors are hired because of the skills they have in their particular area. Many of the counselors are majoring in art, dance, theater, or music, and most of them are in their junior or senior year of college. However, our waterfront program is excellent too. Campers choose and arrange their own activity schedules from the many activities offered at every skill level. Med-O-Lark also offers a dance program which is quite sophisticated. We offer 20 classes in dance each day, taught in 4 dance studios with 6 teachers, as well as an opportunity to participate in our Dance Track program.
Campers at Med-O-Lark are ages 8-16 (or going into 4th grade through going into 11th grade). Med-O-Lark differs from other camps offering non-competitive activities and allowing campers to choose their own activities. Med-O-Lark does not have a uniform nor does it engage campers in color wars, target sports or other militaristic activities.
Med-O-Lark Camp offers charter bus service from New York City, NY, Greenwich, CT, and Newton, MA and arranges group flights to and from Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, Atlanta, and Washington, DC into Portland, Maine.
