More About Camp
The Mt. Vernon Hotel Museum & Garden offers two summer day camps for children and teens that explore the Museum and the history of New York City. Neighborhood History Camp (July 10 - July 14, ages 9-12) uses the Museum’s historic, landmark building as a focal point for hands-on, fun-filled, history-centered activities that include 19th-century craft projects, games, architectural tours and field trips. Theater History Camp (July 17 – July 21, ages 12-15) draws on Museum artifacts and NYC history as inspiration for creating dramatic characters, sets and plays. Campers will perform for family and friends on the last day of the program. Both camps are led by experienced professionals and take place in the Museum’s historic building, its beautiful surrounding gardens and its adjacent, air-conditioned auditorium. Please bring a brown bag lunch. Mid-morning snack provided. Call for further information. Now in our 13th successful season!
