More About Camp
Palos Hills Riding Stables, Inc is a family owned business that had been in operation for almost 50 years. Our day camps are offered during the summer as well as over winter and spring breaks for children. We offer camps for children with no horse experience as well as for kids who are experienced equestrians. In the beginner camp we focus on learning to balance on the horse, posting the trot, steering and controlling the horse. The intermediate camp focuses on cantering, mastering control of all gaits, and knowing how to tack and untack a horse with minimal help. The advanced camp skills include cantering on the correct lead, mastery of most horses in the riding school, equitation patterns and learning how to prepare for a horse show. In addition to the riding skills aquired, each camp level also includes ongoing instruction on correct riding position, horse management skills, first aid, ground handling and ground driving skills. Also offered is a master camp for riders of advanced caliber and able to ride in group lessons and the outdoor arena. Please visit our website for full details of all of our camp programs.
