June 27-July 1, 2011
PineCone (Piedmont Council of Traditional Music) is proud to partner with the Town of Cary to offer a bluegrass music camp this summer! PineCone Bluegrass Camps offer students the opportunity to learn songs, techniques, and history of one of North Carolina’s most popular homegrown musical styles – bluegrass music! Staffed by veteran old-time and bluegrass musicians Charles Pettee (Shady Grove Band) and John Currie (Floyd Pond Ramblers), these programs build and develop musical skills while encouraging confidence, creativity and collaboration. The program will culminate with a public performance on Friday night, July 1, 2011. Instruments are required.
