OUTDOOR FUN AND ADVENTURE await children, ages 7-12, this Summer 2012 at Raab Park in Poulsbo, Washington.
This summer, 2012, Janet McKibben, a K-8 Certified Teacher and enthusiastic outdoor adventurer, is holding her second year of day camp for three sessions:
June 25-28, July 9-12 and July 23-26.
Each week a small group of children, ages 7-12, will spend their days hiking and exploring outdoors in three areas in and around Raab Park in Poulsbo, Washington. These areas are composed of wooded trails, grassy fields and forest streams. Informal nature lessons and games are presented throughout the week based on a dally theme: plants, animals, water and soil. Campers learn about nature through observations and hands-on trail activities and games, by participating in nature-related programs, including many "nature art" projects, and by simply exploring their immediate environment. There will also be free choice opportunities in the park to play team building and group games (klck-the-can, camouflage, capture the flag and tail tag are camp favorites), to play on the playground, play badminton and visit the children's garden. On the final afternoon the kids will enjoy getting their faces painted by Ms. McKibben, a professional artist and face painter.
Day Camps run for four days per week from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Cost is $155.00 per week with a $25.00 non-refundable registration fee. If you are interested, please request a registration packet via email. Hope to see you at camp!
