More About Camp
Explore the rich ecosystems of the Copper River Delta and the Prince William Sound by foot, canoe, and kayak. Science Camp is a great time to be active and have fun in the outdoors—and learn about the amazing landscape that surrounds you. During your week at camp you'll hike through the rainforest, explore Orca Inlet, and see glaciers up close. Each day will be filled with outdoor activities and hands-on exploration of the wild inhabitants of this region, including bears, salmon, birds, beavers, moose and more! Nights will be spent at our field camp on the beautiful Copper River Delta and will be filled with fun camp activities, delicious meals, crafts and games. Programs are led by our knowledgeable and caring staff, and we often invite local scientists to share their expertise with us. Science Camp is adventurous and fun, and by the end of the week you'll be able to see for yourself that from the forest to the sea...it's all connected!

Advanced high school students can study ocean science and marine environmental issues firsthand on the Ocean Science and Leadership Expedition (OSLE), an intensive ten-day field course that includes an overnight sea kayaking expedition. Participants will learn from local marine scientists and policy experts, develop leadership skills, and complete service and outreach projects. The course is based out of Cordova, Alaska and includes travel to and from Valdez on the Alaska State Marine Highway.
