More About Camp
Why Rugby?
Rugby is a wonderful game, with a rich tradition around the world. Rugby is the second most popular sport worldwide. It is the contact game of choice for countries such as England, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, France, Scotland and Wales. Throughout the world people play Rugby from grade school through adulthood. In fact, Rugby is truly a "Life Sport" because, unlike American-Football, players continue to participate in the Rugby game long after they leave school. Players continue playing competitive rugby for years and years by joining local men's or women's clubs. Senior Clubs even have "Old Boys" teams composed of players over 35 years of age!

Why Youth Rugby?
Youth Rugby promotes physical fitness, teamwork and leadership skills through the game of rugby. Rugby places as much importance on sportsmanship as on winning. It is a game that will forever welcome athletes of any and every size and shape.

Youth Academy (for boys and girls entering 2nd through 8th grade)

The Youth Rugby Academy runs for five days, Monday - Friday, lasting 9:00- 3:00

Session 2: July 7th-11th is for boys and girls entering 2nd-5th grades - $320

Session 4: July 14th-18th is for boys and girls entering 6th-8th grades - $320

Youth Rugby is specifically designed to introduce youngsters to the game and can be played by both BOYS and GIRLS from the ages of six to twelve years. Children play in age groups at under 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 with special attention in ensuring that each child is matched by size as well as age. In the youngest age groups, starting at six, kids play a completely non-contact version of the game. We concentrate on the running and ball-handling skills, which are so important for all age groups. Each year as kids move up to the next team just a few more aspects of the senior game are introduced. Players will only start tackling when they are ready and have learned how to do it safely.

High School Rugby helps boys and girls in grades 9 through 12 achieve success through the principles of teamwork, good sporting behavior, skill, leadership, fitness and fun. This age group uses age appropriate rules that ensure safety.
